Detailed Reviews
Double glazed windows, but due to location of park across road, some noise will still get in.
Some guests do occasionally play doof doof music, but it's not as bad as buskers at Movenpick.
Triple glaze maybe, but location of it at 500 Queen St is away from buskers, and too hilly for beggars, so it's a plus.
Air con is individual set, look above bed for wall control, no fob or remote, works to cool and warm very well.
It's a repurposed building, and not too tall.
They will ask if you want room servicing, can ask for towels and loo paper if you don't want to be disturbed, it's a great place.
Didn't use car park.
Hotel is easy to find, far from supermarkets but delis close by, lots of Asian eateries nearby too.
Work desk lamp not led and quite dim, but ceiling led light is right above desk.
Bit pricey.
Overall 99.99% satisfied.

+1
I booked 2 rooms for a night with friends last weekend. The rooms are super clean and tidy although one of the rooms’ (acessible room with a king bed -rm 401) bathroom had an odd smell. We requested for interconnectiong rooms. Unfortunately, we had to wait for so long like 2 hrs before we could check in to the second room; they said the reason for the delay was they were fully booked the night before. The Filipina staff was so lovely and apologetic about this but would be nice if we had like complmentary snacks for making us wait that long. Really surprised with the other room being massive and has 2 queen beds. The beds are so comfy and the pillows are so fluffy! Love the room and shower’s interior. Location is very close to kroad where the good restos are. There is parking available on site which costs 35$ a night. Overall I like this hotel and will probably come back in the future.

We stayed here for a weekend staycation and it was a great little hotel for the couple nights.
It was so clean and neat, bathroom is so clean and bright and spacious. They also had one of the comfiest bed we slept on in a while.
Fantastic service and surprisingly nice and quiet too. Alternately, it is around the corner from K-Road, which has great options for food, drinks and a fun night out.
The only downside for the more cost conscious folk - due to it's location, it was rather difficult to find a free off street carpark.
All in all, would definitely revisit again in future.

Good location and room. Very new / modern - opened in March 2021.
The room, bed, Wi-Fi in room, cleanliness etc. was excellent.
Things to watch for: the breakfast is a buffet but not entirely. Only the continental part is laid out. You need to ask the staff for the hot dishes. I was not clear about what is included in the room tariff and what is not. I asked for "a couple of hash-browns" only but the staff was trying to offer me a bigger hot breakfast for $29. The final bill was $20 (continental breakfast).
Also, the breakfast starts at 6.30 am but even 'ready' items such as breads, croissants, Danish etc. were laid out at ~6.45 am.
However, a good experience, all in all.

I always use this hotel when I come up to Auckland for several reasons. Locality to the office I work out of and convenience of K Road for the restaurants.
All of the front desk staff cannot do more for you and are extremely customer focused. Amanda, the operations Manager is an absolute gem and so are Alexa, Rosie and Sonny. I'm sorry cannot remember the rest of the staff's names. They make the Hotel that extra special and want you to come back.
The rooms are cheeful, clean and tidy, cleanliness is at the foreground and cannot be faulted
The only disappointment in my last couple of stays is the breakfast. Not much choice and on several occasions of the last stay there was no hot water, toaster plugged in. Very poor in selection for the continental side of things and even worse for the hot side just three options for $10 more. Suggestion would be to charge one price and get the option of all continental and hot selections.
Unfortunately this last stay was cut short due to lockdown and the staff were so good in helping us to get to the airport in time and also returned some lost clothing in the room due to a very hasty retreat.
Cannot speak highly enough of the staff

We were impacted the recent floods when our flight was cancelled. Needed to stay somewhere for 3 nights with a large family group until new flight arranged. This was one of the last hotels available. Whilst The reception is one of the smallest I have seen (and it was jammed with people and bags when we arrived) staff were excellent. We had booked only rooms available which only had KING beds but we had three kids and my mother. We got early check-in and changes to twin rooms. Rooms were fairly compact but very modern and comfortable. We loved the little couch looking out on Queen street. Lots of furniture in corridors which gave a cosy feel. We were recognized as ALL platinum members with drink vouchers and comp breakfast. The Lone Star restaurant in basement is refreshing and a deaprture from the normal breakfast buffets. Food was good, large and tasty portions delivered to table. There are plenty of excellent restauants, bottleshops and bars neraby. If staying make sure you don't just head downtwon but go back up the hill where there are many restaurants down the cross street. Thoroughly reccomend Fat Pukus Smashed burgers (best burger I have ever eaten), literally 25 metres from the hotel around the corner. Great playground for the kids at Myers Park. We also walked to the Museum which was easily done! NEGATIVES: Didn't detract too much from our stay but we found it really odd that the hotel did not have tissues in the room. Both our rooms did not have a tissue box which is almost unheard of in hotels (our next stay was in an IBIS and they had tissues). Also, it's a good security thing that the room keys are needed to activate the lift but staff need to tell guests that they will only work on your floor. We had two rooms with my mother on another floor and she got trapped in the lift and had to activate the alarm to get help. We saw several other people confused by this. Once we knew this it was OK as we used stairs. Overall an excellent stay and we would stay here again if in Auckland.

The staff were all great and excellent location for the K road.
Room was very comfy but very dark with almost no natural light. Often that would not be an issue but this time I needed to do some work and the desk (and lack of natural light) was not good.
Had a B&B rate - breakfast quality was average/poor - the savory option was basically two eggs, a scrap of bacon and half a tomato. No fresh fruit - except a fruit salad with oranges cut up but peel left on.. Inclusive breakfast simply felt cheap and basic bringing the experience down.

The small lobby area is best described as functional but the staff are friendly and efficient. We had to wait fo0r 45 minutes for a room to be ready but were given a couple of drinks vouchers to use in the bar under the hotel.
The room was an interesting layout, long and narrow because the hotel is a converted office building. In saying that the room was very clean and modern with all the amenities you would expect from a Mercure hotel. Comfortable bed and one of the best arm chairs I have come across in any hotel. I was expecting a lot of noise being on a main city street but the soundproofing was excellent. Good size bathroom with a great shower. (Note to management the shower needs a shelf because there is nowhere to put the soap, shampoo, etc,)
Now a heads up for Accor Plus members, the restaurant does not offer dining benefits for you card, but all is not lost. Walk across the road and catch a City Link bus for a ten minute ride to the bottom of Queen Street where you have a choice of three good restaurants all of which honour your Accor Plus card. Cooks Restaurant in the Fable Hotel, Vue Restaurant in the Movenpick Hotel and Harbour Society Restaurant in the SO/Auckland Hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Queen Street and would stay there again.

Stayed here for four nights in October 2022. Impressed with the reception team, very helpful and friendly.
The standard room would have been okay for a one night stay. We found it VERY compact and the room was dominated by a king sized bed and an oversized TV. There was no storage and very little room to navigate around the room.
Breakfast was inconsistent and the food wasn't always hot. Most of the serving staff were okay, but some just didn't want to be there.
The location of the hotel is not great and is a long distance from the centre of Auckland. You can walk, but is more convenient to catch a bus.
The tap in the bathroom was loose and this hadn't been picked up by the daily cleaning team. We did report it eventually, but due to lack of maintenance staff it was never fixed.
Would we stay here again or recommend it, probably not!!!

Lovely hotel top end of Queen Street. Was relieved to check in here after moving from an unpleasant hotel nearby. Very friendly staff, beautifully appointed room. Spotlessly clean (new) and very comfortable bed.
Didn't have time to use the restaurant but in a good location for many eateries.
Quiet as buses only in Queen St. Queen St view rooms have an impressive view all the way down Queen St, beautiful when lit up at night too.
Really enjoyed my stay
