Hotel room was not very spacious but the bed was good. Pillows are hard and not easy to sleep on. Noise comes from the kitchen of the nearby mamak restaurant. Only public parking spaces are available and parking coupons are needed from 08:00-18:00. Security is good but the WiFi password can't access the facility. Bathroom need to be a bit cleaner. Nearby are 7-11, Watson and Fresh Mart outlets.

The deluxe rooms was too small it barely took my staff. The arrangement of the bathroom is very poor. We couldn't stay for more than a night. The light of the billboard was right in front of our window. -_-

This place is located bang in the middle of Kajang town's shopping area, close to Metro kajang, Metro point, cool blog, secret recipe, 24-hour KFC, 24-hour mamak shop downstairs and a lot of 'maachi' nasi lemak stalls nearby. The rooms are clean, well-maintained and the staff is polite. The wifi can be patchy at times and the AC works well. For the price, we couldn't ask for more.

If you need to be in Kajang and have a limited budget, this is a reasonable choice. The hotel is in the downtown area, above a busy local 24 hr curry shop, opposite the Metropoint shopping centre, and within walking distance of dozens of local restaurants, satay shops, banks, and ATMs. The entrance is hard to find at first since there is a concrete electrical pole directly in front of the door. It might help if you download the location map from the website http://uptownhotel.net/about.htm and give it to the taxi driver. The general area outside the hotel is congested especially during rush hour. The lobby is on the first floor and the service is very basic but they helped me call taxis when I needed them, which arrived within minutes. Rooms are simple and clean but noisy, especially the ones with windows facing the street. The bed was firm and pillows and linen clean. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room without a window. I had a window room for 80RM. The bathroom was large enough and clean with a hot water shower. The desk was not really very good for working at, mostly taken up by a big boxy TV, and the chair is squeezed in between the bed and desk and so difficult to sit down. There is free WiFi in the rooms and the connection was not fast but reliable. Be aware there are no safety boxes in the room. The international airport is about 45 minutes by taxi, and the University of Nottingham, Malaysia campus is 20 minutes by taxi. There is nothing special about the hotel and the Kajang area is not pretty so I did not bother to take any photos.
