Very good food attentive staff and a great atmosphere between locals and visitors. Very busy pub and located in a lovely village of Askham which is just a few miles off the M 6 The Manager leads from the front and the staff very friendly and was too much trouble

Very nice place to stop over, can easily spend the evening there. Food was excellent and the service was quick and cheeky at times but all in line. One thing to note was that previous people before us managed to leave their dinner on the floor including a piece of chicken, this went un noticed by the staff but fortunately...

We stayed for one night after a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. We had pre ordered our breakfast the night before as requested. My partner's vegetarian breakfast consisted of three small items of food. I waited around 45 minutes for eggs benedict which were served with ice cold hollandaise. I was told...

I stayed at the Punchbowl Inn yesterday (Wed 15 March) halfway through a short trip to the lakes on my motorbike. What a lovely place. The village is very quiet, and the team at the Inn are really friendly, serving great food, good beer and a totally excellent breakfast at really good prices. Definitely go again. Thanks! Alain.

Fantastic little pub to spend a weekend at. Excellent food, great staff and nestled in a lovely little village. Traditional country put with home cooked food at decent prices. Breakfast was really good too.

We booked to stop here two evenings which included breakfast, very good price. Bit out in the middle of nowhere but nice location and close to Penrith/Carlisle. We had booked as it said pet friendly but on ringing to check, the person who answered had to check our dog was ok to stop over as they had stopped letting them....
