This is an ideal base for exploring Kananaskis Country, Banff National Park and the many lovely hikes around Canmore. Canmore with its good restaurants, art galleries and excellent book shop is much nicer than the (now) overly-commercial Banff. Ambleside Lodge is situated in a quiet neighbourhood about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. It has two en-suite double bed... More

Sue and Dave are gracious and very welcoming hosts and staying at Ambleside Lodge feels like being invited to a house party. The enormous lounge is a great place to relax and Sue and Dave are always ready to share their tales of travel and local adventure. Breakfasts are fabulous. Rooms can be on the small side and the sloping... More

We arrived tired after a long drive and were taken aback by the effort Sue and Dave had gone to to print off messages and cards from our family to celebrate our joint birthdays. She had also booked in advance for our meal at The Trough---can highly recommend. However, despite having the largest CPR room (which is beautiful) we found the shower... Great experience - Sue and Dave were very welcoming and stayed open late on arrival due to some flight delays. Very comfortable room. Dave was a mine of information and provided useful written guides to local attractions so that we could make the most of our time. Canmore is a great base for local touring and although we stayed only... More

We have just spent 5 nights in this wonderful B&B. It is our second visit to Canmore and based on our first experience we decided we couldn't think of any better place to stay. It is in an excellent location. Walking distance to everything downtown, and is easy driving distance to Banff and the beautiful Kananaskis Country where there are... More

First time b&b users so it's hard to compare. This will set a high base for any other b&b that we stay in in the future. As others have said, breakfasts were large homemade but restaurant quality. Local guide info was fantastic. And the hosts were just delightful. Yes stay! We enjoyed room with ensuite. It may be difficult to... More

When visiting Banff we have had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights and have enjoyed it to the fullest! Although the location is a good hour drive from Lake Louise, the hospitality from our hosts Sue and Dave, quality of breakfast, b&b ambiance and room, knowledge about the area and town of Canmore made up for it big...
