If you're staying in Jasper, then this is one of two choices (& I think the other campground near town is much larger). How people rate their reviews I think depends heavily on whether they are camping in a tent or an RV i.e. in a tent folks rely much more heavily on the facilities at the campground. For an...

The hosts are very nice and helpful. Office hours are limited (9-12noon and a couple of hours in evening) and closed in the afternoon, so be aware if you need help. The office has some supplies and books to read, very basic. The campground is surrounded by wilderness areas and national parks. We spent most of our time in Banff...

Wapiti is one of two in-town municipal campgrounds Sites are close together but level, and each has a picnic table and fire pit. Most fire rings are very close to the RV pad, so keep your fires small. There are washrooms, showers, and a laundry room with only one washer and dryer (wash & dry $2 each); fortunately it is...

There are no unserviced sites except walk-in tenting in the woods for $27. The camper sites are all $37, even if you do not want power. Showers cost $3 on top of this! It is extremely noisy because you are wedged between the rail tracks and highway1. Terrible location for an expensive stay....small sites and no privacy, no wi-fi. No...

Stayed at wapit should be called what-a-pity $3/5min shower office isn't ever open so can't tell you fire wood price but seen a few at camp sites 8 logs to a bundle toilets are plugged more often than not no water or sewage in your $37/night stall he seems to work this in his favor so you need shower tokens,...

Booked two nights one on the Friday night (way out) and one for the next Friday (way back) $37 a night is crazy for this parking lot between the highway and train tracks "campground" term used loosely, tokens for a shower is a stupid idea! After the first night I vowed to never stay another night so I try and...

We have stayed at this campground twice this year already and just booked a 3rd weekend there. The site is kept clean and tidy with the toilet / shower block mostly clean when I've been in - you can't blame the owners for the mess others leave behind (better respect for other campers needed) The pitches have electric only and...

My wife and I have camped at this particular municipal campground a number of times over the last few years and despite the noise from the highway on one side and trains on the other it's convenient location encouraged us to continue, plus we also enjoy a little shopping and dining in downtown Canmore. Unfortunately our last encounter has turned...

My family and I had an awful experience staying at the Wapiti Campground this July. The campground was unkept and dirty. The bathrooms were not properly supplied with toilet paper or clean. The campsite we were in was unkept with patchy grass, dirt and gravel. The trees were not trimmed back or well kept. Also, there was a large number...

I called Wapiti to see if they had campground availability for certain date in July 2015. The man I spoke with said he didn't have his calendar in front of him and requested my name and number to call me back once he had his book. It's four days later and I'm still waiting for a callback. Thankfully, I got...
