I stayed here in September 2016. It is well maintained hotel given that it is more than that it is more than 125 years old. The rooms are spacious (in fact they are 1BHK apartments). Centrally located (walking distance from Waterloo and Laurier Universities). Many restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay here.

Decent looking rooms and friendly staff. Kind of expensive for amenities offered. Clean rooms though. Centrally located with lots to do around it. Restaurant below for quick food, no gym or pool. Historic building!

This is a somewhat old-fashioned hotel. Our room was a very big one with a wonderful queen size bed. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. It is expensive if you compare with Spanish hotel standards... but we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here recently for the second time, and I'd definitely come back again. It's the best value for the money for a hotel in Kitchener-Waterloo, especially if you like old charm and character rather than the usual bland cookie-cutter hotel decor. They provided little extras like a mini-refrigerator and water bottles. The hotel staff was very friendly, and the...

I really like it when someone takes an old hotel, upgrades it to suit the modern traveller, but retains the historic character of the building. The owners of the Waterloo hotel have done just that. The rooms I have stayed in feel like they are out of the 1920's in decor, but have the amenities that we expect in a...

Thank you Chris for the compliments, we try hard to be unique and inspired by the history as well. We also wish we had an elevator at times but assure you that are staff are always happy to assist guests with luggage if needed.

We visited October 3rd, and the nights had turned suddenly cold. We asked of the front desk about the lack of heat in the room and were told the heating system took much time to start up. We asked about the electric fireplace in the room and were told it was not active at this time. This is an elegant...

Came to Waterloo on business travel and never had a vehicle. Hotel is close to shopping and restaurants which was great and within walking distance. The Hotel Decor and Room was a bit outdated but it looks like they are doing some significant renovations to the Hotel. I would stay here again if I ever end up back in Waterloo.

I used this hotel for business. My room was very spectacular and large, but seemed a dusty and grungy....and the first impression at the reception was not nice, as used paper towels were left on the surface of the desk. This hotel has no breakfast area, but recommends places close-by by providing vouchers for 8 Canadian Dollars, which don't get...

“To avoid the noise of busy King St.pick rooms that are at the back of the hotel and away from noise of traffic ,pedestrians, buses. Also there is no elevator in this Older Boutique Restored Hotel, only a huge beautiful staircase which is quite a climb especially to the 3rd floor rooms. Second floor is doable for someone with breathing problems or joint problems. Rooms 205,209,210 are away from noise of streets. All rooms have a theme are are decorated to that them. Loved the Elephant Room.”
