I've stayed at this hotel a few times and generally have positive stays. My last visit was January 6th and 7th. I was greeted by Michelle at check in who was excellent at her job....friendly welcoming efficient. In fact she called me by my name whenever she saw me...and it is a big hotel! The room is very nice with coffee, great toiletries, plush towels etc. The only negatives for me were kids running through the halls ( hockey tournament in town) and late night drinking and partying in the room next to me. I finally did call security around 2 a.m. to deal with it. There was a pool which i didnt use. I am staying here again next week so i guess overall I am a satisfied customer.
Nice hotel, good food but horrible security in the building. Upon entry of hotel at night security nor front desk checked who we were, didn't make eye contact for that matter. Upon arriving on our floor through elevator there was a man on his phone in the hallway. As my husband and I passed him he tried to grab me but I got away. We went to our room and locked the door but the man followed us and proceeded to knock on door to let him in. Tried calling front desk but our room phone was not charged so had no choice other than call police who then called front desk to send security. Security came but man refused to leave. Police were then called again by front desk clerk but only on the request of my husband who waited downstairs with them all as we waited for the arrival of police. Police escorted the individual out of the hotel. Front desk said they were sorry and that we would be compensated but we used our points for the hotel so that didn't happen. As a female and thankfully I was with my husband had I been alone things could have been worse. Security needs to be beefed up at this hotel to make it safe for everyone.…
Front desk was welcoming and professional, room was very clean, especially nice bedding and beds. The pool was warm and clean. The kids enjoyed bowling as well. The butter chicken was excellent, a real chef cooking late at night was a welcome surprise. My server Heera went above and beyond and was most hospitable. The breakfast was pretty good, I enjoyed the breakfast quesadillas and yogurt parfait. The kids had lots to eat and the coffee was good.
So, the hotel lobby looks fine, and common spaces are ok. The room..I booked and received a king room. The bed is really truly comfortable! That's about where the good stuff ends. A few things to note for us business travelers: no chromecast (front desk laughed when I asked if it was available), the bathroom has mold and a shower head desperately pleading for a CLR treatment, also if you own anything to put in the bathroom there is no vanity to be found. Old school coffee in room (this is why I bring my own travel Keurig). Ok for a night I guess, but the Hyatt down the street has better in room amenities and a bit of class. I'm guessing 10 years ago this hotel was cool, it hasn't lasted.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Kitchener for 3 weeks -Mon.to Friday due to health issues at the hospital. . We found everything to be satisfactory. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast servers were great especially Carol. Housekeeping was fine - if we needed anything the staff were more than pleased to give us towels, etc. We did not need daily cleaning as we were there for the entire week. The furnace in our room did not seem warm enough so we mentioned it to front desk and a space heater was in our room that day. Very accommodating!
Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. They wouldn't honor the rate we booked at , front desk manager is a nightmare and no one is held accountable. Elevator was broken, kids running wild. Wish we slept in the car.
Room was decent A/C was very loud. Housekeeping was very poor. We needed to continuously ask for clean towels, toilet paper (the lowest quality that you can get), tissue and garbage pick up even after signing a housekeeping card as to what services we would like. The phone in the room continuously flashed as if we had a message. We did not have a message and no one on staff knew how to clear the settings in order to stop the phone from flashing. We needed to ask for towels in the pool and fitness area as well. The bowling alley lanes are not maintained they are all dented and the 5 pin bowling balls are all chipped so they wobble all the way down the alley. The front desk staff, other than Michelle was very slow. It seemed like they all lacked experience and professionalism in the hospitality industry. Michelle was the best front desk person and hopefully will become the manager of the hotel and correct everything that is not right! We all needed to repeat ourselves as to what we needed and when we needed by (having said that only Michelle was able to fulfill the task! . We made the biggest mistake to have breakfast in the Aqua Restaurant. Service was poor and the food was disgusting. The fresh fruit that was cut up smelled rancid. The vegetables seemed like they were from a few days ago as they were all shriveled up and had a bad smell. The tea we ordered was luke warm when we received it and the juice and chocolate milk we ordered as we sat down came at the end of our breakfast. They double charged me for parking for one night and the administration is deciding whether or not to credit my credit card.…
This hotel offers a government rate on their website so I booked for this past weekend. I brought the government badge only to be told by the manager at the front desk that they only honour the rate if you’re there on government business with a letter from your employer. What? Never heard of this in my life. I was forced to pay double the rate I booked at and am still waiting for an answer from the hotel. I wonder if CAA members must be there on CAA business too, lol. Either the hotel isn’t honouring their rates or they need to hire a new manager.
This hotel never honours their rates. Be careful what you book, it’ll change once you get to the front desk. I wish I read this reviews beforehand. Also, they only have garbage cans in the rooms. We couldn’t find any in the lobby or anywhere!
Why offer a government or military rate then claim you have to be THERE on military business (which will never happen). Was sad to see the lack of respect for our service and the rudeness of the manager.
