We booked the play Spamalot in Stratford and found the hotel prices there a little high. We decided to choose this hotel due to its proximity to the 401 and Hwy 8 to Stratford as we came from northern Ontario. I didn’t mind the half hour drive from Stratford to Kitchener after the play.
The hotel was very clean and we were welcomed nicely and we even had early check in. (Around noon for us). The man at reception was great and friendly. The room was very nice with comfortable beds and strong wifi. There was also lots of outlets for plug ins for phones, iPads etc. which is welcomed these days.
The breakfast was good with eggs, bacon, sausage, toasts, cereal, yogurt and the standard options but no waffle maker. Coffee was good and espresso offered too.
The only unfortunate thing was the hot water for the shower was lacking. We mentioned it to the lobby and they were aware. Hopefully, it was just a short term problem .
Yes we would return even for a Stratford play.

Well hello therivus, What a wonderful review for us all to read today. Thank you so much! We hope you enjoyed Spamalot...we hear it is great. We appreciate you sharing with other Travelers the proximity of our Kitchener Inn and Suites to Stratford as well as our location just off the 401. We are quite conveniently located to many areas throughout the region, and all within a small drive of each other. We are delighted to know you were received at check in with the best in hospitality service. We will pass that onto Dan our Front Desk Manager. We took note that you also enjoyed the Cubic charging station in the rooms. An absolute must, as you mentioned these days. We do apologize we ran into a maintenance issue with the hot water during your stay. We did manage to resolve it in a timely matter. So we thank you again, as we truly appreciated your understanding. Overall, it seems that your stay worked out well, and that makes us smile! We would love to welcome you back therivs. It would be our pleasure! Kindest Regards, Cathy B Sales Department Kitchener Inn and Suites

Affordable place to stay for families! We visit Kitchener/Waterloo a couple times a year because my wife is from here and her family still lives here. Every time we come back its nice to see how developed it's gotten. My young son loves taking the bus and the hotel is conveniently located around a couple bus stops. The 2 queen beds was able to accommodate our family of 3 comfortably. Housekeeping is attentive and very accommodating with requests. There are many restaurants for families close by - we enjoy walking to them, especially Moose Winooski's. Parents if you're looking to keep your kids entertained, there's a trampoline park in walking distance.

Hello mtl_francois It was so nice to read you enjoyed another stay with us here at the Kitchener Inn & Suites. Yes, the city is continually developing before us. So much so, those of us living here are constantly encountering new venues, restaurants, etc. It is exciting. We are not sure if you and your son have had the opportunity to ride the NEW ion transit in addition to the bus, but that is something to experience while here as well...smile We are thrilled to read your wonderful compliments and we truly do appreciate that you value our services. Your loyalty to the Kitchener Inn and Suites is very much valued by all of us. Thanks so much again mtl_francois for choosing us as your go to hotel. We also thank you for taking the time to highlight some recommendations in the area when visiting us! We send much gratitude your way for sharing it here on Trip Advisor! It will be our pleasure to see you soon. Warm Regards Front Desk Reservations Kitchener Inn and Suites

I travel for work often throughout Ontario, after a lot of driving it feels good to know that I can go to a spot and they remember everything but I need from repeat stays!
The front desk team is so courteous polite and thoughtful, I am so fussy... that has keeping has gotten to know me and they know exactly what I like. These are clean and very comfortable love the beds after a well-rested night it helps me move on for the rest of my day. A little bit of coffee and a little bit of breakfast they take good care of me. It's the small details and nuances that makes me go back. And of course you can't beat the rate it's close to everything including the highway so you can't go wrong. I will always stay here when I'm in this neck of the woods . Great job Kitchener Inn and Suites !!

The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating and that is where the good review ends. The room was musty and worn. I used an entire container of Lysol wipes cleaning all the surfaces because there were coffee stains and sticky surfaces. Cable was in and out. Their breakfast was ridiculous, I understand about Covid however having stayed at another hotel in Kitchener during this time where they could still provide you with a hot breakfast to have this hotel say they are providing you with breakfast when you get a small yogurt and a fruit cup that was quite frankly just ridiculous. To add insult to injury there was a $17 hospitality tax added to the bill so what you think is a good price for this hotel most definitely is not. We visit my mother as often as we can at the long-term care facility and I can assure you we will never be back to this hotel.

Hello, We will start by saying our cleanliness on this forum speaks for itself with all our reviews. If you felt your room was not cleaned to your liking or standard, you only had to let us know the day you checked in, or on the second day of your two night stay. We would have been happy to assist you. The cable being in and out was a result of Rogers TV. The whole area was out for two hours. The Grab & Go breakfast items, were not included in the price of your stay as we are not advertising a breakfast. This was explained at the time of your booking. As for the hospitality tax, this is a tax the Region of Waterloo has mandated for all hotels in this area. It was not a tax we do ourselves. Your opinion is your own. We will continue to provide the best in hospitality to all guests staying with us, as again our reviews can attest too via this forum.

Have stayed here before and this place is consistently top quality. Check-in was a breeze and the staff is always friendly. Rooms are clean and well appointed.
Towels are soft and not like the usual 200 grit sandpaper you get at some locations.
Breakfasts in the morning are a great way to kick off the day. Will surely stay here again when we are back in the area!

My buddy got married 2 weekends ago and we all decided to stay at Kitchener Inn as the price was right and the location was close to the venue. I had a great night sleep, beds were comfy... no complaints here, hotel was even close to a couple pubs so the party continued (in a responsible covid manner of course) I would definitely come back!

Upon entering the hotel, you think you are in a very decent hotel but when to enter the room , bad surprise!
Everything is old and falling apart. As someone said the tub is discusting, the furniture is old and pieces are missing, the chair is all broken. The mattress is not confortable and the linens must be 10 years old +++ although clean but could barely hold on the mattress. I can’t believe some people rated this place 5*, I think they must be from friends and family member of the owner, or these people have very poor expectations from the hotels they stay in. The price is decent but still the double of what it’s worth. Be aware, they take $300 guarantee deposit for all the junk they have in their hotel. NEVER AGAIN! You should be ashamed of this place

We know you are very mad because you had to put a $300 security deposit down at check in. If the room is pre paid through third party, we ask for a $100 security deposit on a credit card or $300 cash. Your full deposit has already been refunded. Unfortunately, we had a new person working on the front desk that day, he confused the credit card and the cash. You made the description of the room totally false with anger, as our reviews do speak for themselves about the hotel and cleaning. We know this is your first review on Trip Advisor and everyone knows Trip Advisor does a thorough check of the reviews to be real/valid before they are posted. You only stayed in our hotel one time, and we have hundreds of guests that stay in our hotel regularly without any issues, or negative feedback.

My daughter is heading off to University in the Fall in Waterloo and this hotel is about 15mins away from the school (easy drive on the expressway) We've stayed here a total of 2 times while looking for an apartment for my daughter and her roommates. Great stay both times! Easy check in and out, free parking, free coffee and like a 'grab and go' breakfast in the morning with yogurt, fruit, power bars etc. We'll definitely say again when we visit our daughter. A no fuss hotel!

Based on the reviews we booked here. My wife had treatment 2 days at a local hospital and we needed a home base. When we arrived I spoke to the gentleman behind the counter and explained we would need a late check out on Friday as my wife would be at the hospital until 4. First he told me because of the covid issue they were not doing late check outs. I drew his attention to a sign on his desk saying yes they do late check out, but there would be a cost. What? A charge for late check out? If you check the review below mine you’ll see they asked that customer if they would like a late check out. WTH!!
The room was awful(see pics). Dirty, broken shower stall handle and rusty. I hope the extra $50 you charged me for the late checkout helps. The hotel was empty, some goodwill would have gone a long way.
We will be staying in Kitchener every Thursday and Friday for the next 3 months. It will not be at this hotel

Good Afternoon, We understand you were very upset that you had to pay the extra fee for the late checkout. This was made clear with your manners with our Front Desk Clerk. As you pointed out with the guest review below(the satisfied guest as per their review and rating) a late checkout was offered. This would be a complimentary extra half an hour or so to which we generally can do. Should the guest be running late. That being said, you wanted to stay until 4pm on your check out day. This would as most hotels would, incur an additional fee. More so now than ever due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our housekeepers in addition to their duties now provide extra detailed cleaning to ensure the safety of our guests. Since our Check out time is 11:00am and the rooms have to be prepared for check in at2:00pm...yes your stay until 4pm would incur an extra fee. As for your pictures, we are unsure when those pictures were taken? It is of our opinion that they were not taken during this most recent stay. The room type you were in (again for two days with out any concerns of the shower handle door being brought to the attention of a staff member), were recently addressed with new caulking and edging as early as January of this year 2020. It does not match up with our inspection of the room your were in. In any event, our reviews do speak for themselves, as you yourself stated you chose our hotel based on the reviews. You did not bring any of your concerns to our attention any of the days you stayed with us. Inclusive of the checkout day, when you verbally displayed your frustration about the late checkout fee but nothing with regards to conditions. We as a hotel we will continue to stay open during this pandemic to serve not only the front line workers the truck drivers, the family members of those in nursing/retirement homes, but any one that comes to the Kitchener area. We will continue to provide the best in hospitality as we have done since we opened our doors, and again our reviews can attest too. Regards, Front Desk Reservations Kitchener Inn and Suites
