What to do mid-November when you need a get away but have no desire to hop on an aircraft ??? So many wonderful opportunities in Ontario to explore, so no need to travel far. This time we chose Living Waters because it has a spa and an on sight seafood restaurant, a lake view and new hotel suites. We were really pleased with our decision. As we were in Collingwood before 4:00 and had already strolled the Main Street, we rang the hotel to inquire if there was any chance of checking in before 4:00. We were so happy to quickly be given a positive response . Amanda , on the front desk, was so pleasant and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Upon entering our designated suite we were a little disappointed to discover one king size bed. We were expecting 2 queen beds to insure peaceful sleeps. Also we did have a lake view but it was obstructed by the children’s playground including a rather large blue covered slide. Before unpacking my husband returned to front desk and asked Amanda if there was any chance of relocating and once again she granted our request with ease. Our second room was lovely, with a clear view of the bay and 2 comfortable queen beds. It was in the newer section so the bathroom was very fresh and clean. The kitchenette was very handy and we loved the little dining area. The restaurant was another delightful experience. Being seafood lovers we found plenty of delicious options on the menu including fresh oysters! A real treat in mid-November The service was excellent and all safety protocols were in place. We devoted one day to a spa day and again had a marvellous experience. Anita and Stephanie were very skilled professionals and very pleasant to chat to. The treatments were very relaxing and we appreciated that we didn’t have to make conversation during treatments. We highly recommend this resort and thank all the staff that contributed to a much needed, relaxing getaway.

I booked a week through my timeshare and was looking forward to a week away. I had stayed at this resort a few years ago and found it enjoyable. But not so this time. The room we had was outdated, not cleaned properly and poorly lit. The following items need to be addresssed by the management: - bottom shelf of the fridge was broken and falling off - all fridge shelves on the door had the supports removed so that items placed on the door just simply fell off the shelf - no plug in the kitchen sink - only one light over dining table to light the entire room - no lamps on end tables - large chair in living room broken - glass stains (water perhaps) on dining table still in evidence - popcorn underneath the coffee table not cleaned up from last guests - toothpaste on tiles in bathroom - communication lacking for new guests - not one dish in the cupboard, not one glass or mug -- I called down and was told they were all in dishwasher. I don't think a guest should have to unload dishwasher even if it is COVID - just wash them properly. - no instructions on how to work fireplace - and it is an old fireplace with several buttons - no extra bags for recycling - dish soap watered down - hard to get "suds" in sink to wash up - only one night table for king size bed so I pulled up a chair for the other side - chair had all the covering peeling off with several spots missing any covering at all - no table lights on night table - only one light in bedroom - small tv in bedroom in the corner and could not be adjusted to watch it from bed as it was securely fastened to wall. - no dish for hand soap in bathroom vanity - just leave it lying on the counter - shower and bath badly outdated - swimming pool did not look inviting and sparkling - shelves in freezer section of frig all rusted All other units I have been in have had a washer and dryer but there was none in this unit. On the positive side, the staff at front desk on arrival were friendly. The repair man who brought plug for sink arrived promptly and the old popcorn was vaccuumed up quickly by another staff. However, during our stay and our visits in and out of the hotel - no one greeted us and said "how was your day?" "Where did you eat/go/see etc?" There was no interaction with guests on a personal friendly level from the staff - in fact, they looked away as we came back and forth to our room. This visit was a big disappointment for us. The Resort needs to spend some time and update the rooms, encourage staff to be friendly with the guests, and make the necessary repairs to the rooms. Not likely to go back.

After we departed from the hotel we realized the following day that we had been charged twice for our entire stay. Both to my credit card that was used to book on booking.com and the card provided by my friend when we arrived. We provided this card upon check in and asked that they use it. I called the hotel 3x over a 36 hour period. Each time I was told that I was correct and was charged twice and that a manager would call me back asap. It is now 4 days since my first call and I have still not heard from someone. We are monitoring our credit card and will dispute the charge if necessary, but the fact that no one has called me about $900 in charges is absolutely unacceptable. I never give bad reviews, but feel the need to warn people.

Our visit to the Living Waters Resort & Spa was fabulous. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed the amenities, and truly enjoyed the Aquapath Spa experience. The Lakeside Grill - their food was so delicious! The staff were courteous and friendly, and we felt comfortable. Definitely will visit again.

While staying at the Living Water Resort in October, I requested a late checkout. I was advised that the Living Water Resort doesn’t support late checkouts? The best they could do was an additional 30 minutes for $50.00. AND the room was not booked for the that day? During my stay, there were fruit flies in the kitchen and living room. A silverfish in the washroom. To top it off, I filmed a cockroach on the ceiling. I emailed management but did not receive a response. Buyer beware!

Hello, we were sorry to hear of the disappointments during your stay with us in October and that no one responded to your email. We do try and offer a late check out when possible, but it is never guaranteed based on so many circumstances in what is happening that day with staffing levels and business levels. We do apologize that there were some insects in the unit, but we do not have cockroaches anywhere throughout the resort. We have a routine schedule with the pest control company who does regular visits and they have never found cockroaches in the building. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your stay and again do apologize for this experieince.
