Detailed Reviews
Hubby and I stayed here last year for two nights, and enjoyed it so much that we returned for two nights again, this time with my parents in tow. Jeff and Angela are gracious, friendly and accommodating hosts. The breakfast alone is worth the room rate, and the rooms are beautifully kept with a beautifully updated bathroom to share with other guests. Not only do they hand select handmade chocolates to place on your pillow upon arrival, you can often do a chocolate tasting with Jeff and Angela as well. Both times, we have left with a multitude of chocolate treats to go.

We had the good fortune of discovering this guest house, and are glad we did. The home is an architectural masterpiece. So many intricate details in the woodwork make the interior stunning. The furnishings complement the architecture wonderfully. The library is like something you would find in a European Manor. We stayed in the Sienna Room, which was very comfortable and well-appointed. Our breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room and was a first-rate meal. Wonderfully prepared and presented. The artisan chocolates were such a perfect compliment to our stay. Our hosts were so welcoming and accomodating. We felt like family. They were very knowledgeable about the area and made some great recommendations of places to see and explore. We will definitely be back. Jeff & Marisca New Brunswick

+1
Jeff & Angela made us feel like royalty! From the elegant surroundings to the spotless rooms and gourmet breakfasts, we felt so blessed to have found this lovely home to stay in for 2 nights as we visited Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. We felt welcomed and cared for, but not intruded upon in any way. They added lots of thoughtful touches, like water in decanters in the bedroom with a sprig of mint fresh from their garden. We couldn't have been happier during our stay at The Gothik Guest House and recommend it with the highest praise!!

Angela and Jeff are the consummate hosts. Their place is undoubtedly the best B&B that we have ever frequented! The house is iconic and beautifully decorated… and has probably the cleanest and most elegant bathroom in all of Canada!!! The breakfast served was amazing - both delicious and unique (Moldovan pancakes are the way to go!) The hosts are most gracious and kind, shared wonderful anecdotes and the final cherry on top is the fact that Jeff is a budding chocolatier who has his merchandise available for sale. We 1,000% recommend a stay at The Gothik House, which provides a perfect launching pad to explore the rest of Nova Scotia. We will certainly return and if you’re still reading this review, you’d be crazy not to immediately book a room!!

This was a great find in Yarmouth. Forget the chain hotels and choose to stay in this historical house close to everything in Yarmouth. Jeff and Angela are gracious and friendly. They stored our bicycles overnight in their garage. These big old houses are lucky to have such owners who will preserve their heritage. It’s like being in a museum. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The shared bathroom might be a deterrent to some (we were the only guests that night), but we have done this in Europe before so don’t mind. Breakfast (Eggs Benny) and fruit was delicious. Jeff pulls a mean coffee. If watery Bunn coffee is your thing, this ain’t the place for you!😂 The price we paid (shoulder season) was well worth it considering what one would pay in a restaurant for that same breakfast. And (who would know) Jeff is also a chocolatier! We couldn’t leave without first stocking up! Have a great season Jeff & Angela!

Meticulously restored Victorian home in a quiet, residential neighborhood of this old seafaring town. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The shared bath was modern with an excellent shower (also tub, which we didn't use...). We chose waffles for breakfast with a delicious fruit topping. Made to order coffee. Jeff and Angela are interesting and engaging and excellent hosts.

If you appreciate quality chocolate, sumptuous furnishings, fine woodwork, interesting art and a well stocked library, then the Gothik Guest House is the place for you. And, the very comfortable beds and mouth-watering full breakfast are certain to give you a wonderful start to your day. A 5 star rating for sure! We are looking forward to our next stay with you and your latest chocolate creations. Thank you Jeff and Angela.

Excellent! Wonderful hosts, quiet location close to ferry terminal, beautiful architecture and furnishings. This was a marvellous stay to finish our N.S. vacation. We especially enjoyed speaking with Jeff and Angela about their life experiences and personal views. And, of course, there’s their amazing chocolate …

Beautiful home, amazing breakfast, nicest and friendliest hosts. Gave us several suggestions on what to see in the local area. Shared the deep history of the home with us. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Two couples mid 60s.

The Gothik House is a gem. Jeff and Angela, the owners are the best at accommodating their guests of any place we have ever been. The inside of the house is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast, gourmet!
