Somass Motel was very close to the marina where we managed to obtain a berth for our Grady White last weekend. The facility is very clean with A/C that works, is perfectly clean and also close to great resturants.

The staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. The customer service was superb, and they went out of their way to accommodate. Rooms were very clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here a lot and would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place to stay in Port Alberni. The owners take great pride in maintaining this property as a nice place to stay. They have RV hookups, charming clean and bright rooms, and a very nice swimming pool open during the summer months. Highly recommended to anyone staying in Port.

I was very impressed when I came here. The owner was very friendly, the motel over all is very clean, the service is awesome, a refreshing pool. This motel is the best place for fishermen because of the river. The river is plentiful with meny Salmon and the owner is happy to tell you what is going on around town...

My dad was on a fishing trip from nova Scotia so we met at the somass hotel. It was family owned, very clean and quiet and they were nice enough to let us store some frozen salmon in the freezer for a few days while we were in Tofino. It was perfect!

Right across boat launch/parking ( $15.5 inclduing day parking ) and I can even park my 16ft boat inside the motel - couldn't do it other hotels or motels. Clean cottage style rooms and frieldnly people were bonus. And, the pool....

We were very impressed! It is an older motel and priced as such, but it is well-maintained, clean and welcoming. Lovely place to stay, friendly people. Short walk to several restaurants and the river.

We came in after a long day's drive and were pleasantly greeted. Staff were very helpful for dinner ideas; room was clean and nice; secret garden was great place to sit and cool off. Air conditioning worked great and was definitely needed. Only complain was the outdoor pool was too cold to swim in and the motel was located right...

We just stayed one night and found it clean and comfortable and good value for 4 of us. The receptionist, Sumi, was very friendly and helpful with information about restaurants and grocery stores. Our unit was quite close to the road but it wasn't noisy. The Wifi worked perfectly for us.

This was a rather humdrum experience but the room was okay and quite clean. It took quite a while for the heat to kick in. The staff here were quite helpful. It is near the water and quite a handy place to stay. Each room is like a little private cabin.
