Pro: The bed was amazing! The first impression of the large reception area was very impressive at first glance. Cons: I came off the elevator and thought I had accidentally arrived in the parkade. It was very basic and in poor condition. The temperature in the room was soooo hot. There was a portable air conditioning unit which did little to cool the room. There were only tiny, tiny windows you could open or the patio door, but without a screen. The glass on the patio window had an imprint of someone's greasy body. The neighbouring room and my room shared a common door which was a little weird. They were playing some good music, but the walls and door were so thin, it was a shared experience. The television did not work. The fellow on duty couldn't get it to work either.

We chose Sunrise Ridge for a two week stay in Parksville. We had tried other resorts in the area but liked the idea of a suite with a kitchen. The suite itself was quite nice but sad to say the service not so much. Firstly, while the site says that construction is happening, it does not say that construction completely blocked any beach access for patrons. This was one of the reasons we chose Sunrise Ridge and it was extremely disappointing. Also when I booked I was advised that while they don't do daily room refreshes, they would offer this at the end of our first week's stay. At the end of the first week I asked and the nice man at the desk took my information and scheduled a room refresh for the next morning at 9 am. We went out to allow the staff time only to return just before noon to find the room uncleaned. I spoke to the cleaning staff who told me they had no record of our room needing service and would contact their supervisor by walkie talkie. I then heard the supervisor yelling at the girl that clients could not expect a room clean without pre booking. When I told the girl I had done that she just shrugged. I then went to the front desk to ask and was then told that room refreshes don't happen expect on Wednesdays which would be 10 days into our stay! I told her this is not what I was advised and she responded that she might be able to talk to someone but was leaving soon with another shrug. The staff finally came around in the afternoon for a quick clean, fresh towels and bedding but I had to make up my own bed too! I even had to buy my own toilet paper as they provided only 1 roll for 2 weeks. All this aside, things that were offered were not delivered. The outdoor fire was only lit occasionally depending on who was working ( the older gentleman was great) and the pool/hot tub were closed for most of our stay. I also note that there are no quiet zones or restrictions and a large group of about 20 children were permitted to run screaming around the resort for two full days and nights ruining any outside time for other families with children and othe guests. It was so bad we were forced to keep our doors and windows closed on a beautiful weekend. Suffice it to say on our next visit to Parksville, we will be staying at one of the other resorts which offers a much better, more welcoming, helpful and quieter experience. Super friendly staff and overall a wonderful experience. We stayed in Unit 421 A&B with another couple and enjoyed all the amenities of home and bonus outside decks/BBQ. The highlight was the walks through Rathtrevor Provincial Park and along the beach at low tide...just a short walk away! If you are looking for a great lunch spot...try the Taco Bistro just down the street... wonderful fresh food! We will be back for sure!

The units at Sunrise Ridge are very well maintained, sparkling queen and very well equipped! They are spacious and well laid out. Very comfy beds and lines, all top quality. Great location in front of a long beach that you can walk for miles! Staff are very friendly, pool and hot tub area are nice and very central. Easy drive into Parksville for all your supplies. Would highly recommend!

The Townhouse was beautiful yet furnishings were out dated .Not a u.s.b .outlet anywhere and a D.V.D player(no d.v.d's) with a 45 inch t.v. in main room. No view of ocean and a long walk to any beach access. If your looking to stay in a nice apartment in Parksville and dont mind leaving your resort to find the beach than this is for you. Unfortunately I was dissapointed.

The on line check in was smooth. it was easy to show up and receive the room key. The room was clean, roamy, and quiet. We did the bed and breakfast option. The breakfast was delicious. Check out was easy on lime. Although 10 am seemed rushed. Would stay again.

Modern and comfortable. Great amenities and friendly accommodating staff. Beach access, pool, hot tub, gym, wood fire place to roast marshmallows! Restaurants are a short walk down resort drive or accessed from the beach. Visit Rathtrevor Beach where the tide goes out for a mile.
