The location is great! They seem to focus mostly on updating the lobby and not the rooms or the gym. The beds were ok, the pillows weren't great and the rooms are a bit dated in comparison to the lobby. We asked for a couple extra chairs for the balcony for our kids and said there weren't any. But there were many on the premises not in use. I wouldn't stay here again with a family. The gym needs an update, one of the belts on the treadmill is torn. Good thing theres some beautiful places to run outside nearby

Booked last minute after camping washout for my birthday. The Resort Manager Jamie organised our early check in and a lovely bottle of Prosecco and card. Rooms are clean and a good size. Beds are comfy. The bar and the restaurant serve fabulous food. A good selection on the menu. I got a birthday cake dessert, which was a nice touch. All the staff are so friendly, helpful and polite. From reception checking in, to the restaurant host, bar staff and restaurant servers. A well run operation.

All of the staff we encountered went out of their way to be personable and efficient. The staff in the restaurant/lounge were plentiful. Recently, we are so used to going to restaurants that are short on staff and the Bayside appears to be fully staffed. There’s been a recent renovation. The view couldn’t be more spectacular. Make sure you splurge on an ocean view room.

A spectacular venue for a quiet retreat; the oceanfront room at the Bayside Oceanfront Resort did not disappoint! My wife and I stayed for 2 nights while celebrating our 25th anniversary, and everything (including the weather!) was perfect. At high tide, we were treated to a display of now fewer than 20 sea otters floating on their backs and feasting on shellfish - directly in view of our balcony! At low tide you can walk out on the sand forever (even more so at the nearby Rathtrevor beach) The dining room is terrific; we had breakfast twice (excellent service from Haley), and a picture-perfect seaside dinner (with also excellent service from our server, Alyssa) A true highlight of MANY from our stay was waking early to take in the superb sunrise over the coast mountains and the Salish Sea.

We took out-of-town friends to the Bayside Resort for a Saturday night dinner. Asked for a window seat, and got the most excellent location to watch the tide coming in, and all the bald eagles circling. Our waitress Kaelyn was a real treat, helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. Two of us had the sesame crusted ahi tuna, the others had the pasta special, linguini with 6 kinds of seafood and a lovely cream sauce. The night's topper was the sticky toffee pudding, one of the beset ever. The side of ice cream made it more special. Very highly recommend you come, enjoy the food and the view.

Gorgeous beach views from the proper side. Dogs accommodated, but we were very aware of them carrying on if left alone, so dinner was interrupted (FaceTime in the room 😉) and we opted to dine overlooking the beach from our room instead of in the lovey restaurant. Great service, all around. My only quibble was the lack of soundproofing: someone with a heavy footfall upstairs, and the rooms with dogs were obvious.

Wonderful experience, from front desk greeting to ocean view room to outdoor spaces to onsite cafe and restaurant. Professional, welcoming, friendly and efficient staff. Room seemed exceptionally clean. I started relaxing the moment I entered my room, looked outside at the waterfront view, and heard the soft instrumental music playing. Likely the most comfortable and nice outdoor balcony chairs ever! Fascinating to sit in or out and watch the tide flow in and out. The cafe turkey sandwich I had one day for lunch was house made, I think even the bread made on site, and was a treat. One evening I had an appetizer of hummus with the best- ever house made pita chips, sipping wine, while seated at a beach view window table in the restaurant. Thankful for such a pleasant lodging environment to come back to after spending the days hiking waterfalls, exploring the area, walking among giant evergreen trees, and more.

We stood at the ‘wait-to-be-seated” sign for 5 minutes. We saw groups of restaurant staff chatting and hanging out together, appearing to be doing nothing and yes they looked over and knew we were waiting. My husband flagged down a staff member walking by and he said come with me we will see about getting you assistance. We walked six steps and he said, wait here. He left, went behind the bar and began stocking shelves…yup we were confused. We decided to turn and leave when the hostess approached us and ask if we had a reservation. We said no - (only a 1/3 of the seats were occupied.) she seamed a bit bothered by this answer with what looked like a half eye roll. She walked away without another word to look at her seating chart, we presumed. She fuddled around for a bit, not looking at us or communicating. My husband approached her asking if we could have a seat away from the piano because it’s so loud and my daughter is sound sensitive. She said there’s only one table available right beside the piano/singer or we could sit in the bar, behind a half wall. This restaurant is all about the ocean views so no. We didn’t want to pay $45+ tax n tip each for a simple brunch buffet to look at a half wall. There was an entire section not open and an abundance of staff standing around doing nothing but they refused us a quite table. It was my daughters birthday so we decided to stay and took the offered table next to the piano, after being at this restaurant for over 20 min without seating. Once seated, we waited another five min because we were told we needed to be given permission to go to the buffet by our waitress, even though there wasn’t a single customer at the buffet. We waited. She came with three room temp no-ice waters and said we could go. The breakfast selection was v simple. We each took a dried out looking eggs Benny with a tiny drizzle of firm sauce on it, a bacon, a sausage, and some fruit and a pancake. I can’t tell you what everything tasted like because we all tried the Eggs Benny first and the texture was mealy but the worst part is it tasted like a mouthful of almost straight vinegar. Yes, I understand a splash of vinegar in the cooking water for firmness but this was cooked in a vat of it. The muffin wasn’t toasted and none of us could cut through it with the butter knives. We really put our elbows into try to cut and couldn’t. Im not sure if it’s the full butter knife, the muffin sitting for sooo long in the hot plate or both. My daughter was crestfallen bcs she had been looking forward to a nice experience. We put down our cutlery and walked out. My husband hung back and asked if there was anything they required us to pay for but the food was so terrible we won’t eat it and our plates were obviously untouched. The staff member said of course not and looked like he fully sympathizer with our predicament. Keep in mind we went with a gift card that the manager had issued us because our only other time we had gone here was a disaster. We ate dinner with a friend that was a guest at the hotel. On that trip only one person in our party could eat the food served them as it was such a disaster and we all received a gift card of apology. We are tossing out the gift cards. I wouldn’t eat here for free. Terrible! .
