We have found most HI Express hotels are nice places to stay. This one was no exception. Due to the fires at West Glacier, we had to change our plans. Spent 3 nights at this hotel as a base for exploring lots of areas in...More
We had a great stay of 5 nights at the Golden Kicking Horse. You are only 45-55 mins from Lake Louise and there are lovely local things around like the Kootenay National Park and the hot springs at Radium.

I stayed at this hotel and found that the staff were extremely rude- both the front desk staff member I had the displeasure of dealing with at the time, in addition to the management I spoke with afterwards about the issue. When I contacted the the head office through Facebook to complain and discuss the issue (being charged for a room that was unfit to sleep in), I was informed that there was nothing that they could do because each Holiday Inn location is operated independently, so it sounds as though each location sort of makes its own rules....not sure if that helps.
