My girlfriend and I brought our dogs, a greyhound and a corgi, to stay at this motel for one night in July of 2022. After departing the motel and within an hour of leaving town, I received a call and a text message from an employee of the motel. This employee claimed that the blankets on the bed and the chair cover were unusable due to dog hair and demanded that we return and take these items home with us. After telling this employee repeatedly that we had already left town and receiving irrelevant photos of the chair cover and blankets, he stopped messaging us. Our corgi had jumped up on the chair and left behind a bit of dog hair. We didn't consider this to be an issue as we had paid $30 extra for our dogs and figured that the hair could easily be vacuumed up by the staff. As for the bed, neither dog had jumped up or was placed on it at any time during our stay. All of this information was communicated back to the employee at Greenside. A week later, I noticed that they had charged us for an extra night. I texted and called the establishment to discuss the matter and was rudely hung up on. I then informed the motel that we were going to call the police if this was not immediately resolved. A response quickly followed in which I was told to check my email. In my inbox were the same irrelevant pictures of the chair cover and blankets that I had already viewed with no proper justification of the charges. AT NO POINT did the staff of this establishment inform me of their intentions to charge me for an extra night. They also clearly are not pet friendly even though they claim to be. I am calling the police today on this matter. So be very wary of this establishment. They are the cheapest in St. Andrews, but that is for a reason. Stay elsewhere and be safe!…
The only thing I could criticize about the Greensides motel in St. Andrews would be the tiny size of the shower soap! Everything else was perfect, especially the beds. Daniel the owner was polite, helpful, and prompt. HIghly recommended.
This motel was a hidden gem! We rented one of the family apartments for 2 nights and couldn't have been happier ☺️. Rooms were all very clean, beds comfortable, and was fully stocked with everything you would need right down to dish soap. There was a full size fridge and stove, as well as microwave toaster and coffee maker. The living room area was very cozy. The owner was so friendly and even gave my kids some Korean treats to try which was a bonus. If you're looking for an affordable, lovely, and close to town place to stay book here!
So went for a wedding and most of inns were full. This is about 5 km from downtown. Tim Horton one block away. Older motel BUT bathroom totally renovated, good tv, beds comfy, clean, internet ok and less than half price of Algonquin. Also fridge and microwave in room. Certainly fit the bill
Price is very good. Across the street from Tim’s. Comfortable beds. Coffee, fridge and microwave in the rooms. Rooms a bit dated but expected. Only suggestions would be that besides sugar some whitner is needed for the coffee as well.
· Owners seem to be doing a good job updating what looks to have been a worn out motel. Our bedrooms and bath were modern and nicely appointed, living area and kitchen spacious and well outfitted. Very comfortable beds, too. Owners are friendly and helpful. In all, a better place than expected. · The place was clean but they kept the door open while servicing and that let about 10 flies inside. Not a big deal but def not welcome. And while advertised as air conditioned, there's one A/C in the bedroom with no window and no A/C in the one with a window, and none in the LR. Cool weather made that irrelevant, fortunately. Overall, Greenside is nice but has a way to go to make it worth the price they charge, given location outside town and general condition of the property
This place had everything we needed. Not a huge room but soft comfy double beds and fridge and microwave and shower/tub. Perfect for 3 adults and 1 youth. Everything was clean and looked to be recently updated.
We found the motel to be very clean, the check in was quick and easy. Very close to town. The kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed. Very quiet and the sunrise was beautiful to watch from the chairs on the porch.
We arrived on a Saturday in Saint Andrews and decided ten we would like to stay somewhere near by, almost every single reasonably priced motel/BnB was booked full but we lucked out and got the last available room at The Greenside! We only needed a room with 1 bed but had to get one with 2 but the price was still very reasonable, the rooms were small but what else do you expect from a motel with 2 queen sized beds in the room ! Our room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine, tv and a small desk, the bathroom was larger than expected while still not being very large we were impressed.. the service we received while checking in and when we had a few questions was amazing, we had a wonderful stay in a very clean room, only thing we didn’t love was the the fact that the carpets in room might need a steam clean or something to clean them up better, we had our 10 month old son with us and his hands, knees and feet were filthy with grim from the carpet after crawling around for 10 minutes, but we will definitely be staying at the greenside on our next trip down :)…
This place is a great, budget-friendly motel in a convenient location. The rooms are not fancy however, if you want a clean and comfortable stay at a great price, this is the place for you. The bathroom is small and the shower very tiny but the friendly staff and amazing service make up for it.
