Arrived a few minutes early - 3 pm is check in - building was locked- but a worker was there - he had to call the lady that does check in - she arrived about 15 minutes thereafter. The entire main floor is turned upside down, had to use a side entrance and up 3 sets up steps (which was fine but may not be for everyone) rooms was clean as were linens but appeared very messy, with wires hanging out, duct tape around an old air conditioner, tripping hazards at floor level, no smoke detector, stairwell was dark, linens are clean but definitely should be in the rag bag - very tattered. Wifi did not work, no where to set a laptop, no fridge, and no where for breakfast on site. Definitely one to avoid. Positive note was location. Never did see another staff member after check in - glad we only stayed 2 sleepless nights

We were very pleased that this inn does not use fabric softener or scented laundry products. Also, because I mentioned sensitivity to scents, the owner had the rooms cleaned with unsecented products, e.g. vinegar. The inn is half a block from the street with all the shops and restaurant, but the location is quiet and the rooms are as well. The inn has a convenient separte entrance from the restaurant, accessible with the room key. The rooms are compact, but include all the basic amenities and the beds are comfortable. Art work on the walls adds to the ambiance of both the dining room and the inn. The excellent breakfasts are available only to guests. We had the scallops for dinner--perfect!

As part of a mini art retreat in beautiful Saint Andrews, a group of us artists stayed at Europa. It was perfect! The owners are so friendly and welcoming, and the Inn is wonderfully charming with personal touches that you just don't get from cookie cutter chain hotels. After a full day of painting down on the wharf, it was just a short stroll back for a social evening of great food and friends then a wonderful night's sleep. Could not have had a better time!

This quaint little hotel is well positioned in the middle of St Andrews yet it is quiet. The property is clean and well designed. Our room was a little small for both of us and our dog but adequate. Because we booked at the last minute we weren't able to reserve a suite. The staff are very helpful and the place is very pet friendly and understanding of dog noises. In addition to being a great place to stay the restaurant which provides breakfast and dinner is the best in town. In fact it has spoiled us for the rest of the trip and set the bar extremely high for other restaurants that follow.

We only stayed one night and checked in after dark but had a great sleep, the room was clean, and there was a lot of beautiful artwork in the inn. The staff was helpful and friendly. It is very close to everything in the downtown.

Gracious staff; scrumptious breakfasts; convenient location for exploring on foot many of the local sites (the town wharf, Kingsbrae Garden, Ross Museum, etc.). Beautiful paintings of the area by Simone Ritter adorn the walls throughout the inn and add to the delight of staying at Europa. We enjoyed our 2-night stay and recommend this inn if you're heading to St. Andrew's-by-the-Sea!

We loved staying at the Europa Inn. We spent two nights in a room with a king-size bed and a small balcony. The room was a bit small, but well-appointed and very clean. The large bathroom had a nice shower and plenty of towels and toiletries. The best part of staying there was the location - walking distance to everything in St. Andrews - and the outstanding restaurant. Definitely get the meal package if you book a room here. We added ours to the reservation after booking and were so happy to have this option. Another thing to note are the original paintings and watercolors by the owner's wife all throughout the inn and restaurant. She is very talented and many of her works are available for purchase.

Although it was still should season, the restaurant was ready for crowds. The food was excellent, we have taken to sharing one dish between us as portions tend to be more than we need and it is such a shame to waste good food. The restaurant was accommodating and split our chicken cordon bleu in two separate plates with ample salad and veggies on each. This also left us read to enjoy a delightful dessert. The wine list was plentiful and varied. The chef came by to see how we were enjoying our food. The wait staff were efficient and friendly. Highly recommend this gem.

Food was amazing. Every aspect was covered, from plating, attentive service, exceptional dining experience. Wonderful meal. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Exactly what we needed when traveling. Owner/chef of the Europa very attentive to all aspects of our stay. We even enjoyed the beautiful art work in the dining area. Will definitely stop back when traveling through the area.
