We booked a king room with a double balcony (Victor Newman Room) facing the ocean and were thoroughly impressed. It was very comfortable, quiet and spacious. They had a CD player with a few easy listening CDs which we enjoyed. They provided a small container of port and fresh cookies each day. We appreciated the cream in the fridge for...

We had a lovely ground floor suite facing the ocean. The private outdoor jacuzzi tub got lots of use . The fire burning indoor fire place was a nice touch too. Unfortunately the wood was quite wet and didn't burn well. The decor was a combination of comfortable rustic and tired shabby. The view more than made up for any...

Stopped into the charming Sooke Harbor House for lunch and was completely impressed. The seafood stew I was fortunate enough to order was perhaps one of the most memorable seafood dishes I have ever had. Loads of salmon, clams and muscles in a tomato, bacon broth - it was absolutely delicious. The setting is lovely, a cozy room surrounded by...

We went to the Sooke Harbour House for Mother's Day Brunch. In all the dining rooms in greater Victoria that we have frequented for this special occasion we have never been so blown away by the quality, service and all around coziness of this beautiful hotel. My mom, bless her heart wants our family to have Christmas dinner hear. Thank...

We are locals to Sooke, we believe in supporting Local everything... Coming down to Harbour House is usually something we hold as an annual event as its quality is superior and prices reflect...that is of course, until the newly opened Copper Room within the Harbour House opened The food, atmosphere and service far surpasses all expectations even for the most...

My husband booked this brunch well in advance and we looked so forward to it. When we first walked in we were shocked with how small the brunch station was and that we were sitted in what looked like a small lounge area. When we got up to go through the brunch we saw a long black hair on the...

This is a wonderful, old hotel that sits right on the water in Sooke, B.C. Our check-in was smooth and being shown around the hotel prior to being taken to our room was a nice touch. We were overwhelmed by the size, comfort & beauty of our room and the view, oh the view was glorious! It was nice having...

The reservation staff covered the bases from recommending the perfect room with an awesome view to handling dinner reservations. When they say pet friendly they mean it. while we sampled the complimentary Blackberry Port the 4 legged princess sampled an organic dog treat (made on site) and had me call for a second one. The grounds are beautiful and there...

Celebrated a 50th Anniversary staying at the wonderful Sooke Harbour House. The whole experience was everything I could have hoped for. Welcome anniversary card, cookies, truffles and Port were waiting in our room for enjoyment. View was spectacular, room quiet and very comfortable bed. Enjoyed drinks on the patio of the Copper Room then indulged in the 4 course dinner.Wandering...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sooke Harbour House Resort Hotel is located on Southern Vancouver Island overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Olympic Mountains, and has direct beach access to Whiffin Spit on the Juan de Fuca Strait. Our unique 28 rooms feature a selection of fine amenities including spa tubs and steam showers. All of the guest rooms have wood-burning fireplaces and ocean views, with the exception of the very spacious family room which overlooks our garden area. The internationally award-winning fine -dining restaurant serves organic, seasonal, Canadian cuisine, specializing in wild seafood, mushrooms, herbs, and flowers from its organic gardens. We offer meeting facilities, spa services, recreational activities and eco-tourism in pristine wilderness. Whale watching can be enjoyed within walking distance, and on occasion the Orcas swim in front of the hotel! The Sooke Harbour House is a perfect destination for weddings, romantic holidays and an 'any season getaway'. In 2016 all 28 guest rooms were sympathetically renovated with new carpets, beds, luxury linens and 40 inch flat screens with cable tv. In September 2016 we opened our wonderful new Copper Room, featuring a large selection of Island produced craft beers, wines and spirits as well as international favourites. The Copper Room is open from 11:00am to 9:00pm year-round daily, serving a more casual menu of wholesome and hearty foods as an alternative to our fine dining. *** Please note: From 18th October until May 31st our fine-dining restaurant is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday. It is open for dinner Thursday to Monday from 5.30pm to 9.00pm. Throughout the high season the fine dining restaurant is open 7 days a week for dinner. The Copper Room is open daily serving food and beverages making Sooke Harbour House a full service resort. ... more   less
