This motel is a split-level building. 5 steps to the upper level, or 5 steps to the lower level, but the upper balconies partly block the lower windows, so I suspect those rooms may be rather dark. I asked for an upper level room and had good views. My room was rather small and basic, but very clean and while the furnishings were in good condition, the walls need decorating. The room had a fridge and coffeemaker. There was hanging space for my clothes, but no drawers. This was a very quiet area, yet only 2 minutes walk to the main street, with a good selection of restaurants & shops, also petrol/gas on main street. A visit to Radium Hot Springs is a must and only a short drive.
My main concern about Radium is the number of tall condos being built and spoiling the views.

This property has been closed for 2 years. Someday it may reopen but at present it is not operating. Trip Advisor should remove this from the list of current properties reviewed. I have not stayed there this is for information purposes.

Have used the Columbia many times; not fancy but economical . Very convenient to the main street so one can have a few bubbly's after driving back from the hotsprings. Haven't stayed in the bottom level but the top level with a seperate bedroom is nice. Beds are kind of low quality but are bug free. Smoking is allowed outside on veranda and chairs and ashtrays are provided. There are bbq's for customers, which brings me to the last point...Columbia is seasonal and I believe they only have one or two rooms available in winter; if any at all.
