Dave and Nancy are incredible owners of this motel. The upgrades and changes they are making are fantastic. The rooms are quiet and depending on your preference you can have your pick of views. We stay here on every trip we take to Radium and do not even compare other places to stay since the Apple Tree is the best!
My friend in BC and myself in Calgary decided to have a fun weekend in Radium and so booked a room at the Apple Tree. Very pleasant family running the motel that had just bought the place a few months before. The rooms were clean, the bedlinens were fresh and the toilet flushed properly. All you really want in a budget motel! It is very much dated but really... who cares if the three main things work! It has a small fridge, free coffee and a microwave. Not to loud even though we were right on the highway. I would for sure stay again!
We stayed a night here on our way from Banff to Cranbrook in early October. The room had a great balcony view looking out over the steeply sloping hillside, and the king bed gave a comfortable night. The cabins are older, with quixotic plumbing and not a lot of space, but ours was clean and had all the advertised amenities in working order. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would have been happy to stay another night, but the weather was more promising to the south, and with the property so close to the highway my wife found the night time truck traffic disturbing to her sleep. Apart from that we were happy with our choice of the Apple Tree Inn. We could have taken a room on the lower level (down slope) that might have been quieter.
Very impressed with the customer service above all. Friendly and caring owner, went out of his way to make our stay great. Amazing review from the private balcony, cozy and cute room. Room was clean, and location to town was perfect.
Within minutes of arriving at The Appletree Inn we were off-put by our accommodations. Doors that didn't seal properly, meant that we were sharing our room with bugs. I'm not talking one or two that haphazardly came in from bringing our bags in, I mean upwards of a dozen beetles, and other crawling bugs on the walls, ceiling, floors... you get the picture. We picked the Appletree Inn because of a desire for budget friendly accommodations the night before a backpacking trip, and what a mistake that was. Not one hour after arriving we quickly found another hotel. The room was dingy, creepy, and very uncomfortable. Upon mentioning it to the office, we were told "Yup we need renovations done." Understatement of the year right there. Highly recommend avoiding at all costs!
i met old owners ,,,fantastic now theres new owners also fantastic they were very helpful with anything we needed or wanted ,,,i really enjoy being there ,,,i,ll be back ,,,,the rooms are really decent the atmosphere is great and the wildlife nearby is awesome as well
This place is a great deal and location. We are traveling bc to find a new home, and the camp grounds we reserved... did not work out. We found this gem stayed one night and decided to stay over go to bugs villa at the camp ground. The owner is knowledgeable and very nice. Highly recommend apple tree inn!
Not very clean , poor service , not cleaning up to month at a time. Tap in kitchen sink & shower both drip and doesn't seem to get resolved over a month ! Not sure if I have any to many compliments ................................
Stayed here mid September. The place was not busy at all. The Inn is an older property. Our room was somewhat dated and tired looking but very clean. The forest view from the back balcony was gorgeous and the price most reasonable. The plethora of petunias on the property was beautiful.....saw hungry deer right in front of our window...they came to feast on the lovely flowers. Shannon was kind and helpful. Her office was filled with apples and pears from her own trees and she was generously giving them away for free. Radium has some great restaurants,,,,,,,many within walking distance. Regarding Covid, we felt safe here as the area hardly had any cases. Radium is lovely in the off season and I recommed the Apple Tree Inn. Great hospitality!
Stayed in back, (no WiFi in back which was fine with us),beautiful view and quieter. They gave us passes for radium hot springs and towels. Super friendly! Walking distance to cafes and grocery shops. Big horn sheep in the yard! eating apples, so fun.
