Stayed for one night and chose this location as it was affordable. I was attracted to this hotel for the one bedroom that is separated from the living room as I had my granddaughter with us. Upon walking into the room I was surprised u basically walk right into the bedroom. The bed is right at the wall to the walkway. The bathroom is in the bedroom with no access to anyone in the living room after whomever is staying in the room goes to bed. The bathroom door was catching on a tile so made a terrible noise. The faucet in the kitchen is almost too big for the sink. Awkward to use. The walkway between the kitchen and the living room is so tight due to the table. The fireplace was missing a couple of its river rocks. The tile was chipped which made it look dirty. No spoons in the kitchen. The one blind on the patio door was so stiff I couldn’t pull it down. I think it was missing it’s cord. The deck was dirty with old pop cans someone was using for an ashtray. The carpet is old and unsure if it’s really clean. I have stayed in a couple hotels now in Radium and this one was my least favourite. Yes the view is nice from the balcony but it’s really looking down a steep hill at trees.

Some hotels have beautiful exteriors and lobby with mediocre rooms, while other hotels have shabby looking exteriors but lovely rooms. This is kind of the latter. I really enjoyed this property. Stunning mountain and valley views from this high perch. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Shower water pressure is excellent. Front desk was friendly and helpful. We asked for a floor fan and extra coffee - no problem. Large balcony, fireplace in the room a nice touch. My husband and I would stay here again.

We didn't book ahead, but the warm and friendly staff didn't mind. They showed us the room first to see if it worked for our group of people. The room was incredibly clean and neat. Breakfast was included. Will stay again!

We showed up to check in around 5pm and there was no one at the front desk, however, there was hand sanitizer available and COVID screen at the desk. A sign at the counter directed us to call a phone number and a woman answered the phone who attempted to sign us in to our room. She told us to open a metal box on the counter with numerous room keys inside and find room 101. It wasn't there. The woman sounded puzzled and asked me to read the numbers of all the keys. After doing so, she assigned us #102 and gave us a few tips about where are room was and wifi etc.
The room was clean and comfortable, but looking outside on our deck we noticed the property had tall grass all around it and cigarette butts from past guests were thrown over the edges of numerous balconies. In my opinion, this could've created a fire hazard. We had a small issue trying to sign in to the wifi and tried o call the manager, but our phone didn't work, so we had to use our cell phone and make a long distance call to guide us through the wifi hook up.
This morning around 6am we heard a knock at ou
r door from the lady in 101 and told us she locked herself out of her room . The lobby was locked and no one around. My husband had to use his cell to call for help and 15 minutes later the manager drove up to let the guest back in to her room.
To summarize this property, there is zero staff available on site, no servive, building is maintained, but tired. Exterior needs upgrading, landscaping needs immediate attention to keep the building safe and look presentable. There is a restaurant but was closed due to COVID
We will not return.

My husband and I had a three day reservation here and ended up cutting our stay in half due to the uncomfortable bed, pillows and seating. The landscape is overgrown with stairs choked in weeds. Although our room was clean, it was dark and dilapidated. Both taps in the washroom leaked constantly. The wire had been cut for the hairdryer instead of removing it. The continental breakfast in the hotel next door was a bowl of cold hard boiled eggs, Eggos, toaster pancakes and a loaf of bread. The restaurant itself was dark and filthy. This place could be a definite must see with cash spent on renovations. Replace the furniture and flooring. Paint the walls. Provide travel size toiletries-not 1/4 filled soap bottles like we had. Buy fresh bedding and pillows—our room didn’t even have fitted sheets. New mattresses are essential. Make sure doors can lock. Invest in blinds—our room had filthy blue blinds with broken chains and metal weights that wouldn’t allow them to close.( Not ideal when the bed is right at the front of the room beside the only walkway for the hotel.) Buy a weed eater. Plant wildflowers. Train your staff. During our day and a half there , they were friendly and polite but the lack of training and support was evident. It is truly baffling that this hotel’s owners aren’t capitalizing on the spectacular view to maximize their profits by improving the entire experience.

We booked the Deluxe family suite as advertised on their website. Queen bed, loft with double beds, wood fireplace. My husband even called to make sure it was correct. When we arrived, the suite was taken. They tried shoving us into a corner suite with 2 queen beds, a view of the building next to us and right next to the busy sauna... we drove 18 hours to come here and got screwed. What they advertise on their site , isnt what they plan on giving you. The guy at the front just kept saying sorry. The only reason we came to Radium Chalet is for that room. With the hotsprings broken, theres nothing to do in Radium. We wanted that room. So as of this moment, were heading to Fairmont resort to a room as advertised. Im sure the people that are in our suite at Radium Chalet are quite happy. However, having 3 kids in tears including myself after a long 18 hour drive, doesnt make for good business. Will i try to stay here again ? No. Im afraid that what they advertise isn't what they will provide. I'm sure their way of operating is a gimic, thinking people will stay and take a different suite because they're already there. What they advertise on their website, isn't what they give you. I give this place a healthy 2 thumbs down. The whole experience was terrible and a massive disappointment. Dont waste your time or money. After reading a few other reviews, they seem to practice this type of manipulation quite often.

We are very sorry about the mix up and confusion that occurred. The problem is that the naming of our two larger suite rooms on our website is too similar. With one being described as the "Second Floor Deluxe Family Suite" and other being described as just the "Deluxe Family Suite". On other platforms we have changed the name of the third floor family suite to the "Loft Family Suite" and we will make this update to our website. We are very sorry about this confusion and that unfortunately the wrong room was booked for you. We offered you a free room to make up for the confusion, but my understanding is that your refused this offer. Although we are very sorry that there was a mistake, we are not in the business of "manipulating" or trying to trick guests. This was an honest mistake- one which we are very sorry about. We are updating our website to avoid this from happening again. Gerry, co-owner, Radium Chalet.

We return to the mountains often- every 1-2 month year around and stayed in many hotels, motels and private accommodations. To stay in Radium Chalet was my dream for many years. This time my husband surprised me with booking this hotel. The location of this hotel makes a breathtaking views from the room and hotel itself looks like a fairy tale castle. The rest is terrible! The hotel needs major repairs, renovations and sanitation! There were mouse droppings in the drovers under the coat rail, there were bugs (like little cockroaches) in the bathroom. Mind you, those little bugs are harmless. The bedding and towels were badly washed, had stains on them. The faucet was leaking, the heating had only 2 working settings: off and max. It was too cold or too hot. The heating system was so laud that it woke us up during night. The carpet was very old, dirty and damaged. The balcony door was missing a doorknob, the fireplace had large stones unglued. The kitchenette was badly stocked, the kettle had a damaged cord and worked only at specific angle. The mini fridge was filthy. There wasn’t coffee in the room, only tea was provided, contrary to advertising. Also, advertising said that the free breakfast was included, however only bad coffee was in the hall in a large dram. This hotel needs a lot of work to make it on par with the rest of motels and hotels in Radium! Maybe a new management, who will take pride in his/her work and treat this historical gem with respect and dignity!

Not the cleanest place I've stayed. The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The microwave wasn't clean. The TV and cable didn't work.
Not sure how the cleaning is done. They had a note on a cabinet asking the renter to clean glasses, cups, plates, etc.
No one at the desk in the morning, so couldn't tell them about the room.

Make sure to look at all photos.

Mold Mold Mold inside, stains (bed, walls floor), worn, ripps, rot inside and out, electrical issues.

Minimal customer service. Not enough towels 3 for 4 people. Not enough toilet paper 3/4 roll for 3 days for 4 people.

There was no one working from 10pm until 2pm at front desk. You drop your keys in a tray yet if keys lost you are charged yet anyone can take them.

Was offered a free upgrade if we came back again. I said unless your chalet is overhauled that will not happen.

I asked for one of two nights credited back but they offered $100 and I said no thanks.

Its not about money I said. They figured I try and do this to hotels which I dont or else I would have taken the $100.

Worst place I have stayed in my 30+ years of hotels. Im a platinum member with hotel chains and this place was plain gross and should be closed.

Same room as few months before, same bathroom door that rubs floor when you try to open or close them, found open bags of chips at the top of the kitchen cabinet ( from who knows when), walls greasy and dirty. Outside is like a refugee camp where people use bbq and kids running and screaming most of the day. We stayed numerous times in this hotel but its getting worse every time. There are much better places in town for same price. You won’t see us here anymore

Hi, there is a Sauna available at the Chalet. However, there's no more hot tub and fitness centre. These were removed 2 years ago. Apologize if info in this website were not updated. We will do the necessary. Thank you.

I would recommend driving rather than trying to walk to the hot springs pool. It's something like a 5 minute drive.

Hi Don, Yes it is. We are still setting up few things but yes, everyone is welcome to use the Sauna now. Looking forward in having you soon. Thank you for choosing Radium Chalet.

Thank you for the questions. 1. No the sauna room is not fully complete, our apologizes for the delay in this renovation. 2. Most of the rooms have gas fireplaces, the family suite has a wood fireplace. The fire ban is for exterior and outside fires. 3. For the continental breakfast there are a few gluten free options, including hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese, juice/coffee etv. There is also sliced ham, but that may not be completely gluten free. Thanks, Gerry, co-owner
