What’s to say this team has seen to have perfected trail grooming and maintenance. Didn’t expect much with the weather conditions with iffy snow depths. Whatever they did it was heroic, trails magnificent and the mountain air and vistas are the real beauty and love of earth. Someone asked me recently after watching close encounters of 3rd kind, would you go my answer surprised me, no, where would I cross country ski?
We were a group of friends who spent 3 days at Nipika in early January. We x-country skied the many trails. The scenery is breathtaking! Our cabin was fully equipped with comfortable beds, sofa, dining area and a wood-burning stove. Wood was cut for us and all we had to do was start and keep the fire going. It was so nice to just relax at the end of the day in our cozy cabin. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We had a great time!
Perfect in every regard. Clean comfortable accommodations. Well appointed. So much to do. Hiking, biking, swimming, frisbee golf, relaxing. Easily one of the Purcell's best kept secret. Can't wait until next time.
This quiet mountain resort has million dollar views, amazing hiking and biking trails, extraordinary paddling on the Kootenay River with experienced, excellent staff. It’s a “people friendly dog resort”. Would be beautiful in the winter for a trail ski. Awesome.
Our two night stay was perfect for 2020, but I would like to make it a yearly event. Nipiki met all my expectations. The Rocky Mtn. setting is just beautiful and our cabin was lovely. The views made all the sports even better. An 18 hole disc golf course is being developed and it’s really fun and challenging. This mountain resort is truly a gem, well built and maintained.
Such a lovely location--away from everything. Was fantastic to have no cell service (but there was good wifi if needed)! I was there with friends and our cabin (Bergeron) slept 4 people very comfortably. The log cabin was rustic looking, but was super cozy inside--very well equipped kitchen, wood stove with firewood right outside, nice sheets and comfy bed, nice toiletries in the bathroom. The setting is absolutely lovely, surrounded by mountains and close to the river. So peaceful and relaxing! I look forward to going back!
I absolutely loved Nipika. Had all the kitchen necessities one would need, the bbq on the porch was convenient. Will be going back in fall and can’t wait for the wood burning fire place. Definitely recommended if you are looking to get out and disconnect.
We dropped by Nipika just for the day because it looked like they had some chill, cross-country style MB trails to explore. First: wow, what a beautiful place. It really makes an impression - we definitely want to come back to stay for a few nights! Second: we flagged down to ask one of the staff if they were renting bikes (their rental building was closed) and he was so nice! Helped fit the bikes and make sure they were in good shape. And when the credit card machine was down, he was kind enough to let us rent for the day with cash on hand. Amazing first impression, amazing place, great and friendly staff. Can't wait to come back for a proper stay.
My kids (ages 8, 6, 2) and I had a fantastic getaway at Nipika. We stayed in the Mitchell cabin which was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. The kids loved the zip line, slack line, and running in the meadow. The pond was super close for a dip to cool off in and some water fun. We hiked down to the river (an easy 15min) and spent a lovely afternoon by the water. The deck on the cabin was a great spot to watch the kids playing and I loved that there was no cell service or internet. We biked both days (my 2yr old on a Mac ride seat). The trail network is extensive and I recommend doing some trail research beforehand if you are biking with kids as Trailforks doesn’t work well out there. Biking on the main xc ski trail and the Dunbar single track was lots of fun. Try not to end up on ‘cliffhanger’ though like we did ;) I can’t wait to go back again and explore more, in both summer and winter. It was a wonderful holiday.…
