It was a great stay. The pub staff and drinks were fantastic and great place to meet up with people to head to the hill with. The people are really friendly, battery went dead over night and it was easy to find someone to give me a quick boost. Only downside is not much electrical receptacles in the rooms for...

One of Fernie's gems. Friendly place that gives you an affordable home base to explore the area, winter or summer. The friendly little pub is great place to meet other travellers and pick the brains of locals on what to do and see in the area.

Joe took is in with open arms on a rainy night years ago. He showed us to out room, which was cheap and met our requirements. In the mornings we would go downstairs into the spacious and clean communal room and make pre-prepared pancakes. There was a cinema room, and a great bar. To me, this place was Fernie. I...

Fernie is better known as a centre for winter recreation, so despite promoting summer recreational opportunities, it was very quiet when we visited in August. We took a private room with a double bed and bathroom. The room was adequate although quite warm at night (no fans or airflow). There is also a small television mounted on a bracket on...

Stayed in Feb/March on a snowboarding holiday, the staff were really helpful and would go above and beyond. Really laid back atmosphere and great bar downstairs to meet people. Can be quite noisy but thats expected in a hostel. The kitchen area is good, yummy pancake breakfast every morning, although they need to invest in a tin opener! The dogs...

We stayed at the Raging Elk when we first came to Fernie for the ski season, and it was a great place to start. The staff are really welcoming, the hostel is only a very short walk from town, and the bar is great - free pool and $3.50 pints. The kitchen is huge and was a good place to...
