Semonkong was a breathtaking place to visit. The falls were beautiful and the lodge was fantastic. The food and service were outstanding. The lodge is around a two hour drive from Maseru and the views on the way are spectacular.

Quint but local. If you are looking for a tranquil stop in Lesotho this is the place to be. Hiking trails and horse back tours available with guides. Waterfall close. Road a little bit steep in places.

This is a place of contrasts... an excellent private family owned hotel / lodge with a personal touch, clean and spacious rooms, excellent food, a well stocked bar and friendly staff right in the middle of rural Lesotho. This is commendable, considering the effort to maintain all of this so far from the city! Definitely worth a visit...

A very interesting place with an outside area from where one can watch the passing parade of donkeys, sheep, goats and local people while sipping a cold Maluti. The rooms are in stone rondawels and most have a fireplace to keep warm in winter. Unfortunately we arrived late and could only get a room with a heater and I must...

Semonkong Lodge is in the town of Semonkong in Lesotho, but nestled in the gorge next to a river. Semongkong combines the best of nature and culture. Guests can watch the Basotho people go about their daily life as well as lapping in the scenery. The drive there is beautiful and much easier since the tar road was finished 2...

The road to Semonkong is like a spiral going up down left right ...but eventually we arrived in Semonkong . The village itself is laden with tin shacks and can be intimidating on arrival . I suggest a 4x4 vehicle or at least diff lock. The lodge itself is very simple and rustic. The food is good but expensive !...

We have visited Semonkong about 4 or 5 times before and were last there in 2007. With visitors from the UK we spent the nights of 7/8 November 2016. We had only travelled from Maseru before but this time we used the quiet border post at Qachas Nek and travelled to the lodge on the newish tar road...drive time from...

This place is absolutely fantastic! My group and I went abseiling and we were able to participate in its donkey pub crawl. Both events were well-run, so much fun, and relatively cheap! The atmosphere and people are so friendly and accommodating. I couldn't recommend this place more!

I stayed at the lodge as part of a large group on a two day retreat, and we had a phenomenal time. Both abseiling and donkey pub crawl were incredible, once in a lifetime experiences! The dormitories were clean and comfortable, and it was great that the kitchen was so well stocked with cutlery, dishes, pans, etc. I wish they...

We were at the lodge for a fishing documentary. Jono and his team looked after us as if we were royalty. Great food "bread from heaven" and accommodation was comfortable. After spending 3 nights in the Gorge, we were ravenous and buggered. The lodge catered for our every need. Will definitely be back for more than the three nights we...
