I stayed for 12 days and the Manager Ji was very helpful, informative, and kind. The rooms were basic but comfortable and they delivered on every service provided. Cleaning was done promptly and they even provided Keurig Coffee pods for the coffee maker. The cleanliness and COVID requirements appeared to be followed in a sensible and efficient manner.
I recommend this motel as basic,affordable, comfortable, accommodations with a charming and caring host.

Located on the main road near the visitors center and harbour. The two rooms we stayed in were of average size. They both had a small fridge and coffee maker. The kitchen unit had a microwave and two burner stove and a few pots and pans plus dishes. There wasn't any salt or pepper etc. The bathroom was adequate and some attempt at renovation had been done but the sinks and tubs were quite old. In one room the sink and area around it needed cleaning as there were bits of dried toothpaste and blood? The towels were of good quality and seemed new. The shower was strong and there was lots of hot water The beds were comfortable. The rest of the furniture was dated and the lighting poor. The tv was small. The internet was fine. Staff were friendly but the second time we checked in it took 3 attempts to find a room that was ready. Overall I think it's okay for a night or two but I would look elsewhere for a longer stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Sea Raven. Our room was basic, clean and comfortable. We were travelling with our son and granddaughter. COVID19 was picking up again so staff were not entering rooms to clean unless requested. We were only there for 2 nights so we didn't really need anything. The staff were friendly. Our room did not have a kitchenette but did a have a small fridge and a Keureg coffee maker. The restaurant next door is closed. We were getting up early to go on a tour, so went to a local convenience store to buy baked goods and fruit for breakfast. There were good restaurants nearby for dinner.

I booked two nights but stayed only one as I couldn't handle how awful this place was. People may want to sleep, but before they do some might like to read. The lighting is horrible, with one non-working lamp. The room absolutely stank. The minor renovations were very few and very poorly done. Beds moved around like they were on roller skates. Mold, yes, mold, was in the refrigerator. Very noisy with people stomping on all the wood ramps and decking. When I returned the key, the man at the desk wanted to know why I was leaving. I told him, truthfully, everything, including the screaming children of another guest and the eternally meowing cat all night. He would not even refund the second night. So essentially, I was penalized for staying only night due to his horrible hotel. What a rip-off. If you have newly purchased a business, please make all renovations all at once so it is fresh and nice for the guests. You should be paying the guest to stay here. The best thing that could happen to this place would be for a big D-10 tracker to pull the whole thing down. It is a dump. Do not stay here.

Spent 2 nights at Sea Raven Motel in their most basic room, which was more than enough for my needs. Great location to rest the feet and get a good night sleep, family run local business offering affordable accommodation in Queen Charlotte right in the center of town close to restaurants, groceries, bar, and the harbour. Everything is as advertised, clean, comfortable, great communication with owners, perfect layover in Queen Charlotte before heading out for the many outdoor adventures throughout Haida Gwaii.

we stayed at the Sea Raven the days we arrived and left by ferry. We had a balcony and ocean view in rooms 127 and 115. The rates are fair. Due to ferry cancellation we had to cancel a pre-booked night because we stayed on the north end of the island for the extra week. Despite cancelling on the day of check in we were not charged for the night, Amazing customer service and fully unexpected! The rooms are basic and clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable - more so than many high end hotels we’ve stayed in. The towels are soft and plush, the shower curtains are whimsical and fun (we had smiling cows and sassy frogs). Management are very friendly.

We spent four nights at the Sea Raven, as part a tour package to Haida Gwaii. Everything about this tired, old motel screams 'Don't stay here'. Use of extension cords to power lamps which were bolted to the table, a fridge and the tv can't possibly met safety standards. Creativity saw the use of an empty toilet roll to corral the extension cords in one corner. In the bathroom the shower head provided just a small stream of water which couldn't be adjusted. The shower curtain was moldy looking along the bottom. The dust on furniture rungs, and spillage on the baseboard beneath did not inspire a 'post-Covid' sense of cleanliness. On a positive note, bed linens were clean, although worn looking. Don't stay at the Sea Raven!

Seriously? Walked in (after struggling with the lock on the door which continually jams) and was met with an odour of urine. Heat is stuck on, dial is broken. Window “blinds?” Do not cover the window and there is a walkway to other rooms right outside. AND the hotel laundry with machines buzzing when cycle finished. The plumbing screeches when the neighbor uses the water. The bathroom is on an alarming slant and it is so DARK in here I didn’t notice the sitting chair jammed behind the front door beside the fridge. The sponge painted wall - 70’s bedspreads and artwork of tools is somewhat alarming! Fortunately I had an extra pillow and blanket in the car. I’ll tough it out for 3 days but at almost $400, I’m appalled! 2 stars instead of one because the linen is clean.

We were there in May of 2022 when the tourist season was just beginning. The motel was undergoing renovations and their restaurant was closed. We had some issues with the initial room we were provided but once we changed rooms everything worked smoothly. Rooms and amenities are basic. Other accommodation was not available because of staff shortages and shutdowns due to the Covid pandemic. So we were lucky to have the accommodation Sea Raven provided.

because of a ferry cancellaation i needed a room for 2 nights on short notice. they were very helpful and even gave us a ride back from ferry terminal after we had to drop off the car. it was great value and very clean. they are doing major upgrades room by room.
