Have stayed at the Bay Horse previously - that says it all! Excellent value, pleasant room, warm welcome. Everyone was so friendly - both staff and bar customers. Another very nice visit and a good base for touring. Thank you.

The bedroom was small but clean, cozy and warm. Had everything provided, tissues, shower/shampoo gel, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press. The staff were kind, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. Wish we could have had the Sunday hog roast dinner, it smelled wonderful, but unfortunately we had other plans. Wish we lived nearby as...

Came here after disappointment elsewhere. The welcome was friendly and welcoming. The food was well cooked and excellent in price, value for money and taste. Will come again and recommend to others. The food was well cooked and hot. There were lots of different beers to choose from and they have lots of things for children to do even at...

Great staff and excellent pub grub. Only criticism was a bit of a lumpy mattress, which considering one tends to spend a third of their day on it was a bit of a let down but nothing a few hundred quid couldn't sort and would be a worthwhile investment.

Well kept real ale (Greene King's Old Speckled Hen). Helpful, friendly staff. The prawn starter was delicious if a tad over-priced. Loads of good beef and a variety of vegetables for the main course. Young male Army personnel in the bar, very well spoken and well-behaved.

Last night of our trip and a proper old pub with decor to match. Woodwork needed some touching up but bedroom was cosy and pretty. Bathroom was 'compact and bijou', ie tiny, but did the job. Pub and people were lovely and welcoming, just a shame no decent cider on tap. £60 with cooked breakfast represents excellent value. Only two...

Visited today for Sunday lunch having passed this place literally hundreds of times. Booked a table which was a good job as it was quite busy. Went for the carvery which featured a choice of beef, ham or the roast pig, we had the beef the it's help yourself to as much vegetables as you want. Beef was excellent, vegetables...

Stopped off on drive to Kent from Edinburgh for lunch. A really quaint pub with a very friendly and entertaining barmaid/landlady. Lunch nice too. Had the pulled pork baguette and companion had the lentil soup, both lovely and good value. Would live to stay if I'm going that way again.

OK, so it was relatively cheap, BUT if you want a base to explore Northumberland then choose somewhere else. It is right on the A68 so there is constant road noise. The bedroom was small and basic with a plastic cubicle bathroom the size of an average shower. Sitting on the loo was an art form, with knees touching the...
