We visited the Barley Mow Inn whilst staying in Kirk Ireton. It is a quaint British pub. Our husbands loved the beer and chatting to the locals. A very cosy pub with welcoming open fire. Well worth a visit. We will be calling again.

What a fantastic pub this is, set in a beautiful village. The Barley Mow building dates from 1683 and is utterly unspoilt and charming. If you really cherish wonderful, old-fashioned country pubs then you have found the right one. A mate and I on a...More

Perhaps the most unusual pub in the UK? Five real ales straight off the barrel at £3/pint. Real fire and tables made from an old snooker table. The pub has had (just) 12 inn-keepers in 264 years - the current landlady Mary has been there...More

Not seen many dogs inside the pub but there is seating outside. Hollybush at Makeney is a similar pub to Barley Mow (not far away) and I know they welcome walkers and their dogs.
