Fabulous family meal. Nice relaxing atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. Very pleasant to sit in one of the lovely lounges for a drink whilst the family gathered and chose their food from the menu. Decor and scenery is stunning Catering for all dietary requirements inc my grandson
We stayed for 2 nights. The room was well appointed. The restaurant was excellent. The grounds were very pleasant. But the highlight was the team. From reception, bar staff, restaurant manager, head of housekeeping, each of them were friendly and very professional. We might try to bring other family members to the tree houses.
We visited on Thursday the 23rd - Sat the 25th of Feb. The hotel went above our expectations! It is in a beautiful setting but the hotel itself is opulent but not 'stuffy'! The staff are all extremely friendly and really make you feel like you are friends visiting as opposed to customers! We in particular would like to mention Jess, who went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. Also Harriet, Jeremy, Dave and Dup were all lovely and the restaurant Manager who's name we didn't get! A super hotel and definitely one where we can visit regularly as a getaway treat! Mr and Mrs M
Best hotel stay! I booked a one night stay for my partners 30th Birthday and wow what a special stay that was. We wish we could have stayed for longer! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the most lovely lady on reception who drove us in a golf buggy to pick up our belongings, a nice touch especially in the snow! We stayed in one of the ‘fabulous rooms’ which had the most gorgeous bath located in the bedroom overlooking the lovely countryside. A lovely birthday card and balloons were left which was so thoughtful. The bath products by ‘100 acres’ were a lovely touch, great quality products! I will definitely be purchasing some of these, they smelt delightful. The room included a big TV and a roberts radio which was a nice touch. We had a reservation in the restaurant and all the staff were so lovely and welcoming. My partner said the food was one of the best he has eaten and the cocktails were lovely. When we got back to our room after the meal our room had been made up which was a lovely little touch! The location is just perfect, great walking spot and pub near by. The decor is stunning and they have really put a lot of thought into this hotel. We really look forward to staying again soon.. maybe for my 30th Birthday this time! Since our stay we have even thought about getting married here. We hope that wildhive open some more hotels soon so that we can experience something as good as this! 100% recommend to anyone thinking of booking. …
We had a wonderful evening meal in the Garden room. The whole experience was 5 star. Service, food and drinks were excellent. It’s great to see they are using locally sourced produce where possible. Like Arnie famously once said….”I’ll be back”
We went for afternoon tea with the family plus young children. Lovely atmosphere, great staff (we were looked after by Kyle) and good food. Will definitely be visiting again for an evening meal. Thank you for a lovely experience.
This is an an exceptional hotel with great staff and amenities. We went as a family with a young toddler for a few nights. The fabulous room was large with an amazing view and a free standing tub. The room comes with a coffee machine, fresh milk, water and snacks The hotel and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. They had an open fire on in the main hall and gives this a wonderful vibe. The tree houses really are unique. The staff are really wonderful, one of the managers will always come around and say hello and chat, they are hugely accommodating and good with children. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant is large and very nice. Breakfast is not included as standard, and a service charge is applied to everything at checkout, so just be aware. We made use of the massage at the coach house - it really was excellent and one of the better massages I've had in UK. Highly recommend. Location is good. Plenty of walks nearby. You can walk to ashbourne if you want. There is plenty of parking including EV charging. You can drive to dovedale and stepping stones within about 15 minutes. Bakewell is a drive of around 40 mins.…
I recently celebrated my Birthday at Callow Hall with 20 friends and family, all staying overnight and enjoying a Black Tie dinner in the Spencer Room. The organisation and service on the evening made for an extremely pleasurable experience. It is difficult to single out individual staff because everyone who was involved from the planning stage, to the service of canapés and champagne followed by the 3 course meal was exemplary. The pre-ordered food was wonderful, and enjoyed by everyone. The service of wine and other drinks at the table was extremely efficient with no delays. A big thank you to all the Management and staff for ensuring that this evening was an outstanding success. Guests had arrived from all over the country and were all so impressed with the Hotel bedrooms and reception rooms and of course every member of staff that they came into contact with. Check in was faultless as was the checking out. A special mention of thanks to Jane ( for helping organise menus and table layout etc, and to Will for his attentive service during the evening) Callow Hall will certainly be recommended to others and visited again by many of the guests…
Visited for a couple of days for a special occasion birthday bash. Lovely setting just out of Ashbourne with beautiful views. Fabulous food and restaurant. Comfortable if not slightly small rooms. And above all, a great place to relax. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff.
Afternoon tea. Yes, is was very nice but for the price it could have been more special. The service was good until we asked for more tea, it never arrived. The chairs were very uncomfortable. The sun was shining but the windows did not have blinds so our only option would have been to move to the otherside of the table with our backs to the view. I don't think being in a glass box added anything to the ambiance. As a regular partaker of Afternoon tea at Callow hall before it's take over and rebuild when we always had tea in the comfort of the lounge I don't think we'll return.
