Stayed here yesterday as we were spending the evening at Uttoxeter races. We arrived for lunch and we both had the excellent home made steak and ale pie, fresh vegetables and mash\home made chips (one of us had each), The full English breakfast this morning was also of very good quality and plentiful. The Inn which is the focal point...

We visited for 2 nights…for a birthday treat, but expected more. Didn’t get off to a great start because the pub was so busy with only one person serving we later found out this was the new manageress, that had only been working there for 4 days. It took around 20 minutes to speak to anyone and get booked in,...

I turned into the lanes leading to the Cown Inn following the roadside signage from the Burton to Buxton road and was led to the door. I was late for lunch but the chef was still there though customers had gone and he agreed to the order. The beer battered fish was phenomenal - crisp batter and juicy inside. The...

We were delighted with the room, the food, and the helpfulness of the staff. The bedroom was comfortable with an excellent bathroom; the chef produced some outstanding meals (we ate in every evening); all the staff were ready to help.

The Crown Inn is an absolute gem of a place. Situated in the country, you arrive to a beautiful local pub full of character. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean and you can relax in the bar whilst enjoying a drink. The food is great and cooked to order. The breakfast is one of...

Lovely village pub with contemporary and stylish décor throughout. Very friendly staff though the welcome we received was punctuated with an abrupt request to pay our room bill immediately!! That would not sit well with many guests. Breakfast and dinner good - can thoroughly recommend the Tandoori chicken though not the beetroot and goats cheese starter...too little of it and...

We visited here and had something to eat. OMG it was lovely. The food really tasted home cooked, the vegetables were lovely and so crisp and tasty. Lovely atmosphere, felt chilled and relaxing. I would certainly recommend the meals here. We didn't stay overnight but will next time and if the rooms are as nice as the food, can't go...

We went to Uttoxeter races and fancied staying over so booked this the night before our stay. What a lovely find. The room was advertised as small which didn't bother us. It was spotlessly clean and not noisy with little extras like still and sparkling water in the room as well as tea and coffee with loads of mini milk...

Visited here for afternoon tea, which had been bought for us as a christmas present. What a lovely pub, staff and chef very friendly and very nice decor. Had a selection of sandwiches ie salmon, ham and cheese and lovely cream buns, finishing off with a small bottle of prosecco, will be visiting again very shortly.

Great village pub with good range of real ales and lager. Stayed overnight in a good sized room with everything you need. Dinner was excellent, certainly be classed as better than average pub food. Breakfast was not as good, the full English was well cooked but instant coffee! To be fair, our waitress managed to get us a proper coffee...
