Invited to breakfast by friends who were staying there. The whole experience was a joke. Coffee served, waitress disappeared for 10 mins. I had to go hunting for the sugar. Waitress returned with a sausage sandwich which was as bland as could be. Cheap white bread, tasteless sausage & cold. 5 minute later, waitress returned with the full English for our host. 1 sausage, one piece of shrunken bacon, half a slice of toast & a poached egg. He had asked for no baked beans. As a bonus he got no tomatoes & no mushrooms. We asked for Ketchup & brown sauce. When the waitress returned she gave us an empty ketchup bottle. I asked for another coffee, certainly sir. It never arrived. Plus side, the waitress was very nice. As was the cleaner who was hoovering the carpet while we were eating. We are local & I’m afraid the Boars Head is known as a bit of a joke. Without doubt the poorest, cheapest & blandest breakfast I can remember. A mobile cafe in a lay by would serve a better breakfast than this. Please don’t bother with the usual corporate response. We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy tour experience etc etc etc.

Good sized room and bathroom, with a really comfy bed. A creaky floor in the room above was the only spoiler. Breakfast and evening meals were fantastic. We stayed three nights and were able to choose something different and delicious every night. Staff very friendly. Would highly recommend
