Although we had a vague idea of what to expect, we were blown away by this experience. From the moment we were met at Port Hardy, we were taken on an amazing adventure. The sea plane to the Lodge showed us the most spectacular scenario & made us realise we were about to arrive at a very special, remote, natural...

There are no negatives. This is an incredible travel experience. The lodge and staff create a perfect mix of homely comfort, delicious food, friendly efficient and highly professional service and care. The setting is spectacular. You are hundreds of kilometres from civilisation; you feel a million miles away. The sea plane flight across from Port Hardy is a great way...

Wow! The three day trip far exceeded expectations. The organisation was slick and the floating lodge provided high quality accommodation and first class food, tailored to even the most picky in our party (and there were a few!). But the real highlight was the three expeditions each day, led by enthusiastic and professional young guides, all with a deep knowledge...

I can't really add much to Kitwe50's review except to say that we visited in mid September and it rained all the time - but this didn't spoil our 3 night stay in the least. The lodge provided all the necessary kit to keep us warm and dry - which bears out the old adage: 'there's no such thing as...

As the weather was sunny and clear, we had a brilliant flight in the de Havilland Otter floatplane from Port Hardy seaplane base to the lodge. The return flight was also very good. The flight along the valleys provided brilliant views of the forests, estuaries, lakes and the many areas where logging activities had/were taking place. Also, we saw two...

The staff are so warm and welcoming and the lodge if beautifuli and the rooms are better than we expected with nice fittings and a good en-suite. The food throughout our stay was delicious, but a special mention must go to the homemade cookies. The wildlife is incredible with...

The effort to arrive at Great Bear Lodge was well worth it, flying by Seaplane and seeing the mostly untouched wilderness before landing on the water beside the Lodge was incredible. We were welcomed by our host ( Marge ) & the staff of the lodge then went inside for a refreshment and biscuit before being shown our room. The...

We visited this amazing place and stayed for three nights from the 7th October. Our experience started from the minute we stepped onto the sea plane. Ryan was our pilot who was just lovely. We landed at the Lodge and were greeted straight away by Tom and a few of the staff. We were given name tags by Lena, which...

I stayed 3 nights here. The room was nice, sink in room. You have a separate area with shower and toilet. The shower was a good size and had hot water 2 out of 3 days. The beds are single but comfortable mattress and a duvet was warm enough at night. There is 2 night stands and a desk in...
