I took my lovely mum, her husband and my daughters for lunch on Mother's Day. The decor was very attractive and the staff incredibly attentive but not at all intrusive. The children's menu had some fab options which suited my little girls perfectly ( hummus and crudités, dippy eggs and soldiers) however, there were 4 cucumber sticks and 4 carrot...

Stopped here for lunch having driven past many times. Quite a high end menu with mains typically £14-15. We chose roast chicken and a lamb pie. Small chicken breast barely cooked through on a pile of stodgy mash with some creamy leeks and asparagus. Taste was OK but would not have eaten if had been any rarer. Lamb pie was...

I live only ten minutes by car from the Plough and it has become a recurrent haunt of mine. My wife and I were there last night for drinks and an early dinner with a friend, and I thought I should once again share my love affair with the place. We sat in the spacious bar area where there are...

After several meals eaten here we went as a family for a Friday evening meal. We were so disappointed by the standard of food of what is purporting to be a high-end menu. I chose hake fillet with an oxtail bolognaise which in itself was very tasty, but no accompaniment of salad/vegetables with what was a serving size fit for...

I've been to the plough 3 or 4 times with friends. It's a long way from home in Carlisle, but a great place to meet with friends from Lancashire. Love the place, the ambience, the decor, plenty of room and choice of tables and sofas to lounge on means you don't get bored of it. The food is always fabulous...

Well worth a visit, the food is good and taken either in the bar area or the dining room. The bedrooms are very nice, Good car park. Easy to get to from the M6. A lovely place to take a break, or just stop for lunch.

After passing the Plough many times, we decided to have a ride from Skipton- a distance of about 40 miles - to have a lunch. On entering the bar there was no welcome of any description. I approached a member of staff with regards to a table and was informed that we could sit anywhere and she would send over...

We were so impressed with our overnight stay, however that all changed the next morning. The room (Redman) was clean and quiet and the bathroom had the wow factor. Our evening meal was fabulous, compliments to the Chef. Unfortunately the breakfast experience let it down. It was served in the dingiest, darkest part of the bar and although the cooked...

We were fortunate to stay in the main bedroom which was amazing, very comfortable and spacious with a very large bathroom. A player for vinyl records was an interesting addition. Friends stayed in the other bedrooms all of which were lovely. Food was good and the staff efficient and friendly.

Always enjoy coming to the plough, it's so convenient being on the A65 just off the motorway junction the food and service is always fabulous. It is a very quirky place I feel but it is always very welcoming. No faults at all.
