Just returned from my second stay at the Yarapa River Lodge, my husband's first. There are several reasons to recommend it. The location is exquisite, just far enough from Iquitos, but not too far. The Yarapa River is small enough to be able to see wildlife easily from the river, and seeing local villagers carrying on their lives up and...

Just returned from our Peruvian adventure and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yarapa River Lodge. We selected it, in part due to reviews that noted it is used by Cornell for students studying the Amazon. The lodge itself is built in local style which on one hand means delightfully basic & practical but for those of you who require creature...

The Yarapa River Lodge is a really special place. The staff goes the extra mile to make you feel safe and comfortable. The rooms are very clean, the food is absolutely delicious and everyone is very helpful. Erikson, the naturalist guide we had there, was great at spotting wildlife and he really made sure all my wishes were accommodated. The...

My friend and I had a five night stay at Yarapa River Lodge. We were magnificently looked after from being picked up from our hotel in Iquitos to being taken back to the airport after our stay. To get to Yarapa River Lodge is about 1:30 hours drive by motor car and then approximately a 1 hour long boat ride....

My husband and I stayed at the Yarapa River Lodge during the low water season in September of 2013. From Iquitos, the lodge arranged to take us by car to Nauta (about an hour away), then we boarded their fast boat to travel down to the lodge. The whole thing took about 4 hours. Our 4 day/3night stay was well...

My husband and I stayed at the Yarapa Lodge and had the most amazing Amazon experience ever! The lodge was far larger than I had anticipated, the hammock room was probably the most impressive with it's circular build and massive ceiling, perfect for relaxing after a meal or an early morning boat trip. The room was comfortable and again exceeded...

Thank you to the staff of Yarapa River Lodge for a wonderful 3 day/4 night stay with you prior to Christmas! The excursions, food, and rooms all exceeded our expectations. Seeing the wildlife and learning about the Amazon region made it all worthwhile. It is obvious Erickson (Naturalist), Arrocu (local Guide), Jerry & Carlos (chef & staff) all enjoy what...

We spent two weeks in Peru and this lodge was by far our favorite part of the trip. The staff was very attentive and kind and we really liked being around all of them. The food was great, the lodge was relaxing and the excursions were so beautiful and educational. The work they are doing to try to preserve the...

We had been looking forward to this trip and our expectations were exceeded by the beauty of the area, the attentiveness of the staff, the tasty food, the library in the hammock room, and the quality of the excursions. We walked, rode in boats, paddled in canoes, and fished. We were so excited to see fish, dolphins, fruit and vegetable...

I just got back from the best vacation that I ever took. We stayed at the Yarapa River Lodge for a week and all that I saw and experienced has changed my life. The accommodations were great, the food fantastic, and the staff the best I have ever encountered anywhere. The guides, Ericson and Plass, were absolutely great. Their knowledge...
