Serves excellent food and have usually been there for a Sunday lunch which is always good. A proper country pub with Labradors in the bar and a good selection on the menu. They don't mind serving starter portions in lieu of a main course for those with small appetites.

We are in the village for a peaceful holiday and booked our table for the first night here. Well that turned out to be a surprise and luckily a good one. The menu was varied and there were specials to choose from. Our choices were duck spring rolls to start and Venison for our main course. The spring rolls were...

Booked an evening meal in this busy quaint country pub. Highly recommend booking, this a small inn with not many tables. Service was great, very polite staff and attentive owners. The starter was potted prawns and cray fish with garlic butter and crusty bread. Unfortunately this was slightly over chilled for service, the butter was too hard and spoiled the...

First time here as friends live in the village. Excellent food especially the Caulifower Cheese Soup and fresh bread. Husband had bacon brie & cheese baguette I tried a bit delicious. Friendly helpful staff and good atmosphere.

Having booked for 1930 we were prompt to arrive and the table was ready for us however when we came to order (within 10 minutes) we were told the kitchen had a lot of orders and there may be a delay. - we got our meal eventually at 2115 and we didn't see a lot of food coming out of...

We chose to eat here one evening while staying at The Cider House B&B and were blown away by the food - the pork belly in particular was delicious! We were lucky enough to be dining while the local band were practicing which was great. Lovely little pub with a nice atmosphere, we definitely hope to return one day.

With some time to kill, before an appointment, we wandered down to Buckland Monachorum and needing some lunch decided to try the Drake Manor Inn. What a delightful experience, warm, welcoming and accommodating ( I can't bear cold milk or cups for my coffee...both were warmed for me on request) and delicious food to follow. Only wish we had had...

A menu which I could sample for at least a week. Very good quality ingredients from local suppliers including my favourite Tavistock butcher (Howells). Good service. A true country pub environment, including low headroom and interesting brasses!

Booked the Golden Hind suite for just two nights. The bar was a genuine rural pub bar. The food was not pretentious but still totally top quality ( Sole, Steak, Hake and Fish'n'Chips). The Golden Hind Suite is lovely. Perhaps the bed might be a bit softer? - Personal experience. The Landlady and Staff were all super.

Terrific roast Sunday lunch. The meat covered the plate, succulent and non fatty pork with "my Mum's" crackling. The first place I have ever been that asked if I wanted more veg and roast spuds. Excellent service. Will be back asap
