I stayed here for one night mid-September as I was attending a wedding nearby. I had emailed the hotel asking if it would be possible to check in early due to the time of the wedding and received a reply saying, “no problem see you then.” However, when we arrived we were told check in is after 2pm. After I...

Excellent location right on the A6 and close to Chatsworth House, Bakewell etc. Rooms are quite large and well equipped even if the bathroom facilities are a little bit tight. We stayed for one night having been to this hotel before we knew what to expect. We had an evening meal in what is a very well decorated restaurant, the...

I used to go here regularly, until about 18 months ago, when it took a turn for the worse. I had a meal here a week ago and it wasn't bad, but still way off the best you get with this franchise. The Wheatsheaf in nearby Baslow (same franchise) does it much better. I've not given up on the Grouse...

Table for four on Saturday 12.30. Nice welcome and seated at a mid restaurant table. Immediate service "Are you ready to order?" before we had all sat down. Just give us a minute and we'd like a drink please.... I'll come back in a minute..... gave up on that and went to the bar ourselves. Had to ask the manager...

The food was good pub food. I had the chicken and gammon Pie, although the main feature of the menu is rotisserie chicken. The service needs a lot to be desired. I had to wait for a menu, ask to order, ask twice for more another drink and getting a server's attention for this was very difficul, it took nearly...

Nothing bad to say! The room was clean and comfy and well equipped. The staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere. We ate in the pub in the evening and the food was lovely. We also had a couple of drinks each and the bill was not badly priced at all! Breakfast was fine! The only thing we...

Visited for the first time after spending a morning in Bakewell shopping. There seemed to be plenty of staff on duty, although there was only one person working behind the bar? The food was below average...yes on the face of it the prices are good value but the chips with skins on is a laugh - they are so thin...

Lovely location, adjacent to outlet village, bus stop at entrance, lovely food in hotel, £6 meals 12.00 - 5.00 Monday to Friday. Paths around site can get sandy in wet weather. Pitches are against river Wye.

We stayed here for one night for a wedding at chatsworth house. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We called ahead and were allowed to check in early to get ready before the wedding which was great. There was a mix up and the room wasn't quite ready but the staff were very apologetic and sorted it ASAP. The...
