This was our third Christmas at this lovely family run Hotel and again it did not disappoint. Relaxing peaceful surroundings, wonderful staff who always go out of their way to make our stay special, excellent food. Looking forward to our 2 night break in February
Another Premier League performance at the Chef's Table. Our fifth visit in the last few years and the experience never disappoints or diminishes. Top class food, expertly matched with appropriate wine, what more can you ask for?

The previous answer is correct in that the nearest station is Matlock and then it is bus or taxi. The reviewer who suggested that you could get to Manchester from Matlock had not made allowances for the closures instigated by Dr Beeching in 1966 since the line from Bakewell to Buxton (The Monsal Trail) is now a brilliant walking track with all the tunnels open to make a fascinating experience. The express bus into Buxton and then the train would be the simplest way to get to Manchester. Alternatively the local bus to Sheffield and then the train.
