The Bristol YHA is not up to standard. The shower and toilet facilities are achromatic absolute awful and there are only 2 of each per floor for 10 rooms. Some rooms had 3 and 4 people in them so I even had to go to another floor in the middle of the night. Guests can lock out both toilet and shower if they choose. There are no shelves or hooks in or near shower cubicle and the shower heads are harsh and piercing. The social spaces are very noisy with continual loud music like a night club. The room doors all slam loudly making sleep challenging.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Sorry to read that we didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. The majority of our rooms have ensuite facilities so the facilities on the corridor reflect the number of rooms without bathrooms. We have several common areas. The cafe and mezzanine have ambient music which changes moods throughout the day. For guests preferring a quieter area there is a lounge at the back of the building.

Lovely friendly and approachable taff. Location excellent, rooms clean and comfortable and security excellent. Would certainly use this YHA again, wouldn't really contemplate using a hotel in Bristol anymore.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry that you encountered some Problems during your visit. Please be assured that we’re working on getting our lift fixed as soon as possible - we are waiting for some parts to arrive with the engineer and are in frequent contact to follow up with them. We are also currently working our way through replacing our bed lights and several were replaced this week so next time you visit the problem with the USBs should be resolved. We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to welcome you again

Would not recommend this hostel at all. Slept very very poorly - main road very noisy (even if you bring earplugs), rooms excessively hot at night (even if window open), beds very narrow (and I am a very petite woman), any noise in the corridor seems to be very amplified. There were various problems in the dorm too. The USB plug sockets by the bed do not work so we were having to share two plug sockets on the ground between the three of us - this put me on edge because I couldn't charge my phone at night so was exploring the city on a very limited phone battery. The wifi and signal is very patchy - seems kinda inexcusable in this day and age, just assume the hostel doesn't want to fork out for it. The lockers for your belongings are not great, either. Unfortunately this hostel has chosen to have the lockers as a drawer under the bed, which means you wake everyone up when you get anything out. At the very least, I would expect it to be a proper, solid drawer but it is one of those steel cages, where everyone can see all your stuff. Poor atmosphere, too. Many people seem to be staying here between jobs and apartment-hunting, rather than travellers. The common areas have become 'work zones' as it were, used only by those job-hunting or on Teams meeting for work. The showers were awful. Water would turn off after 8 seconds (if that) so you had to keep pressing and pressing the button. The shower itself was in a small room with a solid door. There wasn't anywhere really to put your dry stuff. I ended up using PureGym's showers instead. Staff themselves were very lovely and are at no fault. But I really would recommend you go to another hostel if you would like to be well-rested.

Sorry to read that you didn’t have the most comfortable experience possible. Wifi is available in the common areas of the hostel and 4g is available throughout the rooms. The majority of rooms have at least 1 socket per bed in the room however we are currently in the process of upgrading the bed lights with additional charging points on the new lights. We have under bed storage on wheels Under the beds to maximise the space available in the rooms. We have a wide customer base and welcome many different types of visitors so the atmosphere in the hostel can vary depending on who is staying at the time.

A fab location, really central for exploring the city. Great communal spaces and the bedroom was specious too (a private en-suite room for 4). We had a continental and cooked breakfast, both of which were delicious. Staff were super helpful and friendly

Fantastic location right at the heart of the city. Lovely vibe. Felt safe and friendly. Excellent common areas. Friendly staff. Breakfast was disappointing (due to supply issues) but we were told we'd be refunded and there are a wealth of cafes in the vicinity. (We'd recommend the Arnolfini and Caffe Moka.)

The YHA had everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and exactly as stated. It was an ideal place to stay for our trip from Bristol Airport. It was really close to all food establishments and the selection of eating places was very good.

I arrived late at night and had to leave early so it was legit just a bed for the night so can't comment on facilities. Room was lovely though, warm and comfortable, bed really comfy! Could do with more space/hooks in the showers, buy showers themselves were powerful and hot. No soap in bathroom and £35 is A LOT for a dorm bed, but aside from those few wee things I'm happy otherwise.

The hostel is well located, clean and modern. A very comfortable stay! But mainly the staff were wonderful, so friendly and very supportive when one of our group felt unwell. Justin and Bec made sure we were all as comfortable and happy as possible - thank you!
