You know when you see Michael Palin travelling through an old communist bloc country and he stays in a really dated hotel? He wouldn't be out of place at the Delta Bristol. Tired dated rooms. Mine had the pre smoking ban stale tobacco smell, bland fittings and the room cleanliness was awful especially the windows and carpets. Plus dodgy hairs! This hotel was great..... in 1986!! It needs a full gutting and refurb. I was here for work and wouldn't stay if I had to pay myself. The only thing stopping me giving a 1 star was that the staff are so nice.
Just got back from a superb trip to the Cheltenham races and stayed at the Delta Marriott in Bristol city centre. We were offered an upgrade to an Executive Suite with full access to the Executive Lounge, were we were treated to amazing Canapés (till 7.30pm) and unlimited beer and wine till 9.30pm. Also included was an amazing full English buffet breakfast assisted by the delightful hostess, Heather. She was so polite and attentive and an absolute credit to the company. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and attended each day to the same high standard by Housekeeping. The Reception staff were smart, polite and very friendly. I cannot fault this three night stay and will definitely be returning in the summer to the Delta Marriott Bristol City Centre. Incidentally, I have never stayed in such a clean and tidy City!! There wasn’t a sign of rubbish in the City Centre on a Friday night, we didn’t see any anti-social behaviour and the journey in and out the City was easy and immaculate. The only downside was the Emission Charge but this was only £9 and is payable in most City’s around the country. If they’re using this to keep the City clean and tidy then it is a tax well worth paying. 5*+ experience for sensible money. Thank you to everyone involved. Stew Curtis…
Great facilities. Great location. The staff make it especially Regina in the Exec lounge. Reception staff are superb too. Evening drink and nibble selection in the lounge was also excellent. Looking forward to being back in summer on the terrace!
Hotel location is good…around Cabot Circus for ground shopping. The hotel is clean, well trained staff and friendly. Always ready to assist guests. I am a Titanium member and I stay in this hotel anytime I am in Bristol. I am always impressed by the staff especially Regina , the Lady works in the Breakfast Area / Executive Lounge. She is courteous, Customer Oriented and an asset to the Hotel. Knows how to engage guests and obviously well trained. Thank you Regina. The hotel is also clean even though an old Hotel. I will continue to stay here anytime I am in Bristol.
I had a two night stay at the Marriott City Centre (aka Delta) hotel. This is a standard business hotel with a decent bar / bar lounge and good breakfast. I found check-in and check-out quick and efficient. Some minor issues with room on the first night, but these were all corrected for my second night. Nicely located next to Castle Park and only a short walk from the Bristol Temple Meads railway station and also the main shopping area.
Still waiting for my £50 deposit to be refunded. Stayed in the hotel over New Year’s Eve and haven’t been able to get through to reception or anyone in order to chase my deposit. Not great service and really disappointed.
Haven't used this hotel since it became a Delta Marriott, staff at reception were not the friendliest, and totally ignored a question asked while talking to each other! Apart from that, the hotel is very much the same, some of the communal areas looking a bit tired, but our room was nice, Bathroom had been freshened up, nice and clean, comfy bed, quality linen and nice towels, room price was very reasonable and shock to be honest, but when you realise you have to drive into the new Green emissions zone to get to the hotel, at £9 per day, that soon jacks the stay price up, and to be honest, that will stop me driving into Bristol in the future. The zone has obviously been set to catch the cabots circus traffic as well, money making at its best. :)
This hotel is great from check in to check out , stay here for business and they always make me feel welcome . Every one is friendly and nothing is too much trouble . Helly at the bar is so helpful - she really looked after me this week as travelling alone its always nice to have a chat - June at Breakfast also lovely and was really kind so thanks I will be back .
The location is superb for shopping and old town. The windows in our room were damaged preventing a view of the. Park across the street. The Christmas market was also close and a nightly visit all week.
I attended a conference in this dark airless hotel. No ceiling lights or opening windows in bedrooms and no natural light in the rooms used for conference have left me resenting all the useless plastic plants. The staff were excellent though.
