Delightful stay in lovely Clifton. This hotel is in a brilliant location. easy walk to main attractions in a delightful squaree. Lovely room, nice ambience and would def rebook if i was coming back to Bristol. Team helpfully helped locate and return missing phone charger.
Reception was extremely helpful and friendly. Having a dog, it was super to find the whole hotel is dog friendly. Also being on the square was great. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect for central Bristol.
On the upside it was very well positioned with a short walk into the city centre and plenty of bars and restaurants around. The rooms had some lovely touches like the complimentary fruit and sherry. Bed was comfy and the parking was handy too. It was also reasonably priced. The downside was that the rooms had seen better days with cracked tiles worn out furniture and the floor in my room hadn't even been vacuumed. We booked breakfast in the morning but couldn't make it but they still charged us for it, which cost us over £30. Old broken electronics were also just left in the room too.
We found the hotel dirty and old, disappointing and nowhere as grand as the photos. Old and comfortable but overpriced. In our room the paint was peeling, it looked as if the door had been previously kicked in, there was no safe so we were nervous to leave our stuff. The bathroom was ancient the bed small.
I can highly recommend the Berkeley Square hotel. It’s in an ideal location, friendly and helpful staff, amazing food and the room was spotlessly clean and tidy. It was also easy to park and walking distance from many shops and restaurants
A small friendly hotel, simple, with no frills, and good value. Some nice welcoming touches. A little dated but fine. The pillows were a little lumpy, better quality pillows would make a big difference! Breakfast was good.
We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions. The rooms are very good with excellent bed and pillows. The hotel is located in the centre of Bristol in a quiet square off Park Road. The rooms are well appointed complete with mini bar.
The hotel location is good and our room was spacious and very nicely renovated. Our concerns were with the guest experience. First of all, at check in we were told there was no availability at all to eat in the hotel restaurant and there were long ordering times (ok. Surprising but it was V Day we wanted to eat out so no issue). Secondly, in the middle of February we expected heating to be on in our room. It was not when we checked in and quite chilly. We called reception and were told that the heating timing and thermostat was controlled centrally and would not be on until 5pm. It would then go off again at 9:30pm and back on at 6am. We understand the current challenges with cost but still found this approach surprising - particularly in winter - and not very kind to paying guests. Even when the heating was on, it was clearly set at a low temperature which could not be adjusted. Thirdly, we were not told about the breakfast hours (and agree we could have asked at check-in). There was no timing information the room so we assumed that showing up at 9:32 would easily be ok. It was not. We were told that breakfast finished at 9:30 - 2 minutes earlier - and there was no flexibility as they had already packed everything up. When we checked out and were asked about our stay, we described these concerns and were told someone would reach out. They did not. In the scheme of life, these are hardly big issues but when we pay for a nice hotel, we expect more including better service and responsiveness. We left the hotel saying we would not return or recommend it.…
Was terrible. They moved me to their sister budget hotel without telling me. I didn’t have power on one side of the room, noise kept me awake all night and it sounded like there was a party right above my head. Asked for a refund but have been ignored. Really awful.
Love the Berkeley Square, I stay here whenever I’m in Bristol for work. It’s very clean, comfortable, and located very centrally in a building full of period charm. The staff are exceptional, especially Theo, so professional and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone!
