I stayed here last night with my daughters (Artic monkeys Ashton court) great location in the centre of Bristol. The room was very clean Spotless in-fact, staff were very welcoming on arrival. My youngest said it was a little noisy at times but it didn’t wake me up. I will definitely be staying here again as we wouldn’t need to look anywhere else.

Easy to find. 10-15 minutes from Bristol Templemeads train station. Very noisy room 17. Backed onto Slug & Lettuce beer garden and Revelution closed at 2am. No let up from the noise. Closed windows but a very hot weekend and only a table top fan as no air conditioning. Room was clean and snug. Bathroom large but no window. Breakfast was hot and good quality. Upon leaving asked if all was OK. I mentioned the noise - never complained as the hotel was full so no room to change - was met with 'Any other negatives?' Think not getting a proper night's sleep is enough.

We stayed here for one night as we had booked a show at the Bristol Hippodrome. Our room was spotlessly clean and was very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very tasty, with a good amount of options. The guesthouse is in an excellent location, near to plenty of bars and restaurants as well as the excellent indoor market. We’d definitely stay here again if we came back to Bristol.

We only stayed for one night but had such a lovely time here. We had a room on the roof with great views. It was beautifully decorated and so comfortable, although I think it could get a bit too warm in the summer. Breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely spot on. Eggs Florentine and french toast. The location is fantastic of course, right in the middle of the city. We also liked the honesty bar and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again, and we overhead other guests asking if they could stay an extra night.

Room was ok -enough EXCEPT couldn’t sleep because of excessive noise in the courtyard and bars nearby. Singing, shouting, breaking glass. I shut the windows, put on music. Book on tape. Awful noisy night. Garages recommended by hotel were closed and they didn’t know or care. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was lovely.

Pros- very central. Comfy bed Lovely breakfast Friendly reception staff Cons- a bit noisy. Noise outside and inside around 2.30 am made for a disturbed night- walls are thin! Had to google the manual for the radiator to work out how to use it! Clicking noise from a dial on the wall all night.

We stayed here for one night. The staff were lovely, comfy beds, the room had everything that we needed and there was a great breakfast of cereals, pastries, fresh berries and hot food server to order. The location is right in the centre of town so easily accessible, however it is located amongst several bars, so I was kept awake a lot of the night with people enjoying themselves in the nearby bars. This was a Monday so I'm not sure what it would be like on a weekend. Shame because its a lovely little place and good value. I'd stop again, but take ear plugs :)

What a fantastic place to stay, right in the middle of all the action in Bristol. The location is central, this does make it very noisy so I would highly recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, like myself. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was great, we sat on a table next to the kitchen each morning, Sherry the chef was lovely and chatty, her poached eggs were perfect. A good breakfast is the most important thing for us, Sherrys breakfast did not disappoint. All the breakfast staff were very friendly. We stayed for two nights (17th & 18th Nov), in two rooms 15 & 16 on 2nd floor, with our two sons (19 & 21) I would highly recommend a stay here especially if you want to enjoy an evening or two making the most of the nightlife in Bristol. The hotel did have a few issues on our floor, there had been a leak and the rooms smelt a little damp, the windows were also very difficult to open and shut, and our shower dripped constantly (R16), that said we will return in the Spring as we enjoyed our trip so much and felt very at home at Brooks guest house.
