A few hiccups, but the staff are brilliant. In particular Natalie and Victoria, both a credit to the hotel. Staff shortages in the kitchen and menu items missing were a shame. Room warm, beds comfortable and lots of hot water.
Impromptu visit to Bristol to “use up” a previous cancelled stay due to Covid. Parking is tight here literally with the 20 or so spaces and the size. I’ve parked my Land Rover in there but it’s tight. About 4 or 5 disabled bays. There is discounted (25%) parking over the big roundabout at Holiday Inn which is NCP. Safe journey across the subway that looks grim but is busy with people normally. Great check in and we were on 14th floor. Standard rooms and so no disappointments. Bar is good with reasonable prices. The restaurant is on the second floor, the bar on the ground floor. Reception and lifts are “first floor”. At the time of my visit the disabled access was out of action, due to be repaired. For me - with knee issues the 8 or 9 steps up/down either way wasn’t a problem. The walk from the car park was easy too. Restaurant is Beefeater and was good. As always it is a good place to stay. Great staff and ambience for a chain.…
I am writing this so angry ....I can't even find words We are staying for one night as we are catching a plane in Bristol airport tomorrow morning, quite early We were told to arrive after 3pm and so didn't rush to arrive but when we got there....things went downhill very quickly It seems that for a hotel with over 70 rooms there is only a handful (30 at most) car parking places...all of which were full. Being disabled, I knew it would be a struggle to park too far away and so, not knowing the area, I thought our best plan would be for my husband to drive around a little while I rang the reception for advice (assuming they would know the area) We spent 30 minutes driving around while no one answered the phone .... eventually we gave up, parked a little riskily and went inside for advice .......only to find the receptionist sat looking bored at the desk as if she has nothing better to do .....I told her that we had ring over and over and no 9ne bothered to answer and got a matter of fact "sorry".....to be honest I cried out of frustration, hurt and disappointment. She gave us a key to our room and once my husband had helped me up he went to go get the bags ....but when he took the key with him (which you need to access the lift) .....I was left in the room in the dark with no electric .....which is where I and sitting writing this :( Why didn't she give us 2 keys? One each? Why didn't she pick up the phone when she was clearly sat at the desk? Why didn't she care if we were parked safely? The answers to these questions and more are anyone's guess ...... What an awful start ....I just hope I can calm down enough to get some sleep after all this stress …
Good location and the staffs (Kirsty and Libbyt, who I meet on the reception ground floor) are friendly, they guided me to order some food during the night time. They are particularly helpful and engaging with the customers.
We stayed on the 10th floor with a view of Primark and the rooftops of Bristol. There were 3 lifts and we never had to wait long. The room was a decent size but with a lack of drawer space. For a hotel, the lighting in the room was pleasantly bright. Breakfast was good with decent quality bacon and sausages, and a good selection of hot and cold choices. Car park was £16 per day and had to be paid each time you left. Exiting the car park, you have to turn left which is a pain as it takes you away from the city centre and all the through routes. It’s around 10 minutes walk into the main city centre.
Great location for City Centre and Bus Station. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Room was cosy with good amenities. USB plugs would be a welcome advancement. Would happily use again as so convenient.
Everything as expected. Clean, central location, very friendly staff. Will use this hotel when next in Bristol both for business and leisure. Well organised. As my room was ready I was able to check in slightly early.
This hotel is spot on. Looks basic from the outside but has everything you need and is in a great location. The soundproofing is fantastic so we couldn’t hear any other guests, or any traffic whatsoever. Really friendly breakfast staff.
Stayed here twice so far in 2023 and was offered top floor despite paying the standard price! All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, definitely a highlight in both our trips. The rooms were spacious with all expected amenities, with great views of bristols city centre. The best location in the middle of the city, and for the price! We have stayed in other more expensive hotels, however they could not live up to the amazing experiences we have had here. Cannot recommend enough :)
As a regular visitor to Bristol, for an overnight stay I decided to book this hotel as it has great parking, great location and having stayed several times before, it’s clean and tidy, and consistent. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed with how tired the decor looked, it hasn’t changed for a few years. A cable tie holding the window shut in the lift area, threadbare carpets and generally looked a little uncared for in places. The room was fine, again threadbare carpets that were verging on a trip hazard, but clean. On return from our evening out, I noticed a horrible “damp” smell in the room. After a long day and evening we just wanted some sleep. I raised the issue in the morning, and the staff apologised. No big deal, just hope the hotel gets the attention it needs, as I would like to feel more comfortable on my next return.…
