What a lovely little hotel and in such a quiet position opposite a green park. On-road parking was easy and we were given a free-parking permit. Service was very good and rooms classy. We were upgraded on arrival which was a nice surprise. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast menu was full of a variety of dishes from healthy to the rather more indulgent!

I spent one night at No. 38 Clifton ahead of a long weekend in Bath. Returning to Clifton was a little trip down memory lane for me as I used to live not far. Years on, it was so lovely to find availability at this gorgeous Boutique B&B. Very stylish interior with lovely touches everywhere. White waffle dressing gowns and slippers in the rooms. I had Room 8, a standard double at the back of the hotel but overlooking the pastel townhouses of Clifton. It was peaceful and quiet. The bathroom was huge with a roll top bath and separate walk in shower. Lovely 100 Acres toiletries everywhere, fresh water, a mini bar and Netflix all added to the delightful experience. Breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled egg with lemon and chives was superb. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone for a short or long stay in Clifton and hopefully I'll be staying for a little longer next time...

We stayed at Number 38 for one night in room 4 and loved every second. The staff are really helpful and the hotel is lovely. The view from our room was great as was the view from the garden terrace. We ordered a breakfast to be delivered to our room, which was one of the nicest cooked breakfast we have had. If you like fish I would definitely recommend the Spiny Lobster which is about a 5 minute walk...amazing food. We will definitely come back.

We chose Number 38 Clifton as it is a small boutique hotel with great reviews. The decor and ambience was lovely and the staff were friendly, knowledgable and very attentive. We knew not to expect a concierge service - and quite frankly if that’s what you want then go to one of the bigger corporate chains - but we were delighted with how helpful the staff were. The breakfast is amazing and we preferred the fact that it was cooked fresh for you individually rather than having to choose from an overcooked wilting buffet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with taste, who likes a sophisticated environment and we will certainly be back.

This was my first visit to Number Thirty Eight on the recommendation of my fellow traveller who has stayed many times before. I was thrilled with our room (number 12) which was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was a very generous size with a copper roll top bath, double sinks and a good size shower. And the large window let in a lot of natural light. The bed was extremely comfortable and big! There was a well stocked mini bar with good quality wine and snacks. We had breakfast in the dining room and it was plentiful, tasty and beautifully presented. And coming from a vegan who is often left with little choice that's saying a lot! The location is great too. We walked to all the main areas of the city including the docks and the shops! The staff were friendly, efficient, attentive and discreet. The perfect combination. There is an honestly bar in reception too. All round a great choice and I will definitely be going back!
