The location is great. Walking distance to some very nice shops and restaurants. The bar is ok - popular with students. The bedrooms are abysmal. The whole hotel needs a lick of paint. The bathroom had holes in the walls. No toiletries, the thinnest towels I have ever seen. There was a kettle but only 3 tea bags why ???... More

Where to begin? My father at 87 wished to celebrate his birthday with a lunch at the Channings, remembering its heyday (clearly quite some time ago). A party of 8 people pitched up for Sunday lunch therefore. And that's where it all went wrong. 50% of the beers were off. Service was execrable, nearly 3 hours for a lunch. Even... More

Stayed here while having a birthday night out in bristol. Great location just a walk from whiteladies where there is everything you need. Staff were very friendly and the beer garden was great. Room. Was clean and a decent size no issue with it

Hotel is perfect for people needing a place to crash at the end of a night out in Bristol. In Bristol for a family members birthday and the hotel was in the perfect location. The two staff members that were there over the evening of the 16th were brilliant. Kept the secret of a surprise additional guest and we had... More

The staff are lovely and friendly. Bar is stunning and the outside space is used well. Breakfast was fab and the evening food was really good value. Walk into town centre wasn't too bad and the zoo is really close. The only thing I would say is the mattress was very soft. But other than that we'd happily come back!

Its been about 10 years since I last went to Channings as I no longer live in Bristol. On Saturday I went to a family get together, the bar was good and atmosphere. In fact the bar was better than I remember. We did not eat there. On reading some of the reviews, It's strange that the manager does not... More

Good value hotel with pleasant and clean rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine. The food in the pub is reasonable pub grub affair and it has a lovely beer-garden. Would recommend.

Me and my partner fancied a pint of cider outside in the sun and stumbled across this place. The interior was well decorated but there appeared to be a few uncleared tables both inside and out. Looking past that, we both ordered a pint of thatchers cider (£4.50/pint) which was a bit more than I'd usually pay but nevertheless we... More

Channings is a fantastic establishment. The bar staff are always friendly and willing for a chat. Adam, Laura and all the team are incredibly kind and have been tolerant throughout my time at Bristol. The beer garden is a gem- great spot for a summer's evening. What a pub. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We came here for drinks and some food. One particular anti-social Bar Staff member, she ....and also if I may say there's another slightly less anti-social Bar Staff member, she comes a close second to her colleague here also, they both need to seriously improve their customer service skills, no smiles, no 'Hello', how can we help you Sir? No... More
