The hotel is in a good central location close to bars and restaurants my friend and I stayed for three nights we booked a family room as we had another friend joining us.
the room was fine for what we needed staff were friendly and helpful
due to COVID, we had to wear masks throughout the hotel and the housekeeping did not enter our room which meant our bins did not get emptied.
There were not enough plug sockets in the room for all of our devices
and none by the bed.

you have to pay extra for WI FI which in other budget hotels in the area is free.
hotel needs a bit of TLC and a bit of modernization but suited us for the duration of our stay.

I can recommend this travelodge for the closeness to the SS Great Britain. You can walk to it in around 30 minutes or go on the little ferry for £1.20 which takes a couple of minutes.
The room was clean and basic. Food was good but if you want brown toast you will have to ask them to put it through the toast a few times. You get waitress service at the buffet breakfast now due the corona virus.
There is a flight of stairs at the corner of the restaurant meaning people walk through while you are eating. While we were there there were plenty of people walking through with dogs.
I have attached photos of the car park. It is run by someone else for travelodge. It is pathetic. There are pillars everywhere. You can't park in the parking spaces because the concrete pillars are in the spaces.

The car park was £18 for 24 hours after I had already paid for my stay it didn’t state this when I was booking. The breakfast was cold and not very nice. Also the soap dispenser in my shower was broken. The fire alarm was flashing green most of the night right in my eye line when I was trying to sleep.

The staff was friendly. I booked this room for business stay but there was only one plug that I could use without having to unplug the radiator or kettle.

I think the room was ok for the price but I would only be happy to pay that again if the soap worked in the shower and there was a room with my plugs. The room was warm and spacious and the tv worked.

The bar doesn’t have draft beer but they do have bottled beer.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our Bristol Central hotel. We're pleased to hear that you found the team to be friendly and the room was warm however we are sorry to learn of your disappointment with the parking charges, breakfast and the facilities in the room. We appreciate all the feedback we receive and our Hotel Managers regularly review their TripAdvisor reviews in order to fix any issues raised and pass on feedback to their team. Thank you once again and we do hope you will stay with us in the future.

So firstly the positives, the staff were all really friendly and helpful as ever. Check in was good although didn’t seem to be any check in machine but that’s all fine. Coffee machine made a nice cup, room was generally as you would expect.

When you go in the room and the fan is on you know its a hot room. Not being a fan of airconn i’m ok with this but it can all mean more noise. Now, this is the centre of bristol on a main road so take that into account however they seem to have done little to mitigate this. The windows are doddery and dont exactly stop noise. There’s the usual noise inside the place too from inconsiderate people slamming and banging but again that’s life i guess. I dont understand the big heavy slammy doors they have, and you can instantly lose points for all the light coming in under the door.

The fire alarm thing sets off a massive pulse of led light every so often for some reason just to add to the vibe. So really you’re not going to be set for a sleep guarantee here.

The roomba hoover machine is gonna need to do some heavy lifting to clean a hotel. You could understand if it was picking up the last 1% but I’m not sure if its the main cleaner 😂

Bathroom was tired but functional.

My main gripe was breakfast, went down on time and everything is just kinda warm. Toast machine out of action and not looking likely to be replaced ever. The biggest issue was the dirty tables. A big deal is made of the place being 24/7 but that clearly doesn’t extend to cleaning. If i’m eating food at 8am I don’t expect grease and lord knows what on the table from who knows when especially when so much goes in to the whole covid secure thing. Especially that especially right now.

This lack of cleanliness just points to a wider problem I think, lack of care and attention, and the knowledge that they can flog a room for £150+ on a busy weekend and serve up any old crap and get away with it.

Unless you have to stay here I wouldn’t bother.

I visited 30th April for one night, I used the Wi fi for many hours, and was given the quietest room overlooking the Harbourside. A very friendly team checked me in quickly and the room was the usual high standard- I took a walk in the Centre area Friday night at 9pm- the City was buzzing. Yulia waved goodbye as I left Saturday Morning and I will return.

I will start with the positives, there are 2.... Central location yep. Breakfast good choice
Negatives... no mention when we booked we would have to pay £12 a day to park the car ! If you were lucky enough to get a space. We have always had free parking whenever we stayed in the Travel lodges, and we have been using them all over the country for the lat 8 years at least 3 times a year.
No light bulbs in the bedside lamps, So one of us had to get out to put off main light, no real hardship, but fumbling your way around a wall looking for the bed in the dark was no fun.
We had a fan going when we arrived, no thought as to why until we came in after dinner. The window wouldn't open. I went down to reception, The blonde lady on reception said, unfortunately some windows have been bolted shut, but I could have another fan , I wanted fresh air !
A number of people didn't use face masks when moving around the reception area or lift. no one said anything. as there are 4 floors and only one lift working it takes a while to get the lift as you can only get in lift with your family or bubble.
I actually took anti bac in lift, as many groups were using it together, mainly groups of young men or women, bit worse for wear.
Wi fi was £3, so with the price of the room, breakfast, parking and wi fi, added all up, next time we in Bristol, we will get a better hotel for our money.
The overall cleanliness of the room was hit and miss. I just had to wipe things down as it looked like some parts had been missed .
We will never book this hotel again.

Stayed here on Friday 8th October with my wife and 2 children as we were in Bristol for a gig at the 02 Academy. Perfect location as only about 7 mins walk from the 02. I read reviews on here before going and read many negative reviews about this place but I went ahead with the booking due to the ease of getting to the gig.

People moan about the general state of the hotel, noise etc......The room was tidy, no issue with it at all. Yes there was some noise outside as this is located in CENTRAL BRISTOL as clearly stated by the hotel, they even advise on their that there may be some extrenal noise due to location.

Yes the hallway carpets aren't in the best condition but so what? I'm not there for the carpets!

Additionally I paid £150 four a family of 4 which is very reasonable to stay overnight in a central city location.

The bottom line is some people just expect too much! Do your research and don't expect Hilton standards at Travel lodge prices.

Would stay here again for sure.

This is the second time I visit a Travelodge, so it is normal for me to make a comparison. The first one I visited in Edinburgh was better even if the room size was smaller. In Bristol Travelodge they gave us a double room with two single beds close one to each other and I didn't really appreciate this, considering that this one was also more expensive than the previous one. The bed in Edinburgh was moreover more comfortable. We had an accessible room so the bathroom was organised for disabled and the sink was shorter, but this is ok and it doesn't affect my overall judgement even if I preferred the normal bathroom with shower. One thing that is missing everywhere: TOILET BRUSH! Gosh it costs 1 pound to Ikea why don't you provide it?! This annoyed me a lot! During our staying just one of the two lifts was working and this fact was annoying as well because you often had to wait for the lift.
As I said in my title, the position was perfect so my overall judgement is positive also because I am not really fussy. For sure some improvements can be made.

I stay in various Travelodge hotels around the country but this is by far the worst I’ve ever booked.
The experience started off with the postcode provided to find the place which is nowhere near. Sat nav in fact said “I’d arrived at my destination” in the middle of traffic about 500m away on an extremely busy road.
When I did finally find it, I was directed to their basement carpark (first come, first served), at a quite expensive £8.00 a night (I use another Travelodge in London charging £4.00 per night).
If you don’t have cash to feed the machine it’s a nightmare. It doesn’t accept cards and you have to go through a painful process of ringing a number, entering all the card details on your keypad (you don’t get to speak to anyone), the they send a text which you have to reply to entering your registration number. Now bearing in mind you’re in a basement, phone signal is poor to non-existent. So you have to do all this at the top of the ramp in the street. Absolutely ridiculous and not customer friendly at all.
The hotel itself is what you’d expect from a travelodge, although I have to say my room was so small I could almost touch every wall.
The key card system is useless. FOUR times the card failed and I had to return to reception to have it reset. Each time being told not to keep the card next to my phone and each time I told them my phone was in the car and switched off. On one occasion I had to go to t he basement carpark to get something out of my car, the card wouldn’t let me in so I pressed the button to contact reception to let me in. I pressed it and pressed it and pressed it....... (you get the idea?!) but no one answered or opened the door. So I had to go up the ramp, walk outside and right around the building to go into the main entrance. When I got to reception there was no one there so I pressed another button to TRY and get someone’s attention. When he finally appeared he was far from apologetic and just said “I didn’t hear you”. No sorry, just “I didn’t hear you”.
I told hi, how fed up I was at my key card continually failing to work and his reply “don’t put it next to your phone”.
As Travelodges go this is the worst I’ve ever stayed in and would suggest to anyone reading my review to avoid this one completely and use one of the many nearby competitors. They certainly can’t be any worse.

Stayed here for one night in March with my youngest son. The hotel itself is easy to find and well situated. The car park however had limited space and the bays were very tight, but I managed to get the last spot (even though I arrived dead on 3pm which is check-in time). Check-in staff friendly and process very swift. Room itself was spacious, well laid out and clean. Beds comfortable, plenty of sockets and complimentary tea/coffee. Slightly expensive at £104 a night for room only (ie did not even include breakfast and there were no facilities within the hotel) My main issue however was that the room was very noisy. It must have been overlooking the street as the noise of people down below went on into the early hours and then started up again at the crack of dawn. I did mention this to the check-out lady and she said if we stay again we should request a quiet room (which is worth bearing in mind).

Hi there is a car park under the hotel as well as few spaces outside the hotel. You must purchase and display the ticket with the Reg No and is £8. You may pay by cash or debit card.
