Travelodge Bristol Central Mitchell Lane receives praise for its central location and the cleanliness of its rooms, with guests frequently appreciating the proximity to local attractions and the overall tidiness. The staff is often commended for their friendliness, yet some visitors have had less than satisfactory encounters regarding service and room preparedness. Despite the variety of breakfast options being a plus, reviewers express discontent with the added costs for Wi-Fi, the limited parking available, and disturbances from noise. Opinions on the hotel's value are split, with affordability weighed against comfort issues and extra charges.

Booked for 1 night, on a business trip, on their amazing £28 deal, and upon arrival? I was greeted by the lovely Leon who upgraded me to one of the Super rooms! HAPPY DAYS! Which btw? Are AWESOME! Very luxurious sort of feel/vibe and modern/spotless and contemporary. The rooms have absolutely everything one would need. Check the link to it on their website. All amenities are truly lovely (particularly the pillows/shower). Dinner was served by the wonderful Tatiana, she was so good, attending to everyone's needs,(all covid secure), dinner was served very quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, chunky chips and beer! Breakfast was served by a really nice girl called Eve, she was so pleasant, helpful and you can tell she really cares about what she does and she wants to get it right. I am so grateful to everyone for my stay. It was fab. Thanks and I'll definitely be returning! ❤

Breakfast was supper and the hotel very efficienbt and quiet.

The hotel is very well situated for everything in Bristol. Parking is easy outside the hote - metered- and the limited hotel parking costs a reasonable 8 pounds for 24 hours.

Its a pity the hotel charges for WiFi after the first 30 minutesl

Mitchell Lane Travelodge is a very good place to stay in the city of Bristol.
The location is central; close to the city centre with it main shopping centre, theatres, nightlife areas, etc.

It is in 10/15 minutes from the cities main railway station Temple Meads where you can contact with the airport bus and buses throughout the city of Bristol.

The standard room was very good clean and in good decorative order.

The reception on the first floor is OK, the bar cafe is a bit soulless yet functional.

Good place to stay and recommended by me.

Myself and my partner stayed at this Travelodge as our pet was sadly receiving treatment at a nearby Vet, so for us it was just somewhere to lay our head for the night as we are not local. However, I felt inclined to write a review as I found the hotel really unpleasant.
The location is convenient as it is a stones throw away from Bristol city centre, however there were roadworks absolutely everywhere around the hotel. It was so so loud, and we could actually feel the ground shaking when we were in our room. The room was also quite warm with no air conditioning, so we had no choice but to keep our window open. Myself and my partner couldn’t even hear each other talking as the roadworks were so loud.
The hotel absolutely reeked of weed. Outside, down the corridors when walking to and from your room, and I could also smell it in our room so someone in the room below us must have been smoking it. Understandably some people may not be bothered by this however for someone like myself, who has never even smoked a cigarette, I found this really unpleasant. The carpets in the corridors were also stained, it just looked and felt really unclean.
We got to our room and again, it felt really unclean. The toilet had not been cleaned properly, I have attached a photo to show this. The towels had a funny smell. The shower did not have much pressure (when it worked) - when we got back to our hotel one evening I went to go and brush my teeth and have a shower and the water had been switched off. The taps were not working and neither was the shower. Another thing I noticed, which I found quite funny, was the soap boxes on the walls seemed to be the wrong way around. The hair and body wash was attached to the wall by the sink, and the hand wash was attached to the tiles in the shower.
The morning after our first night in the hotel, the fire alarm started going off at around 8 in the morning. We quickly got dressed and ran down the stairs along with a big group of others staying at the hotel. We rushed to reception where the member of staff told us it was just a drill and to go back upstairs. I think if a hotel is going to test the fire alarms, then they should be informing their guests of the fire drill schedule on arrival.
Overall I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel from the 22nd Oct for 2 nights. We were told the room was a superior room 259 (which they called super, when we got there) you could not swing a cat in it. It was tiny! We booked this hotel for our Wedding Anniversary, because it was right in the middle of Bristol. Right in the middle of building constructions, window over a building site which woke us up both mornings at 7.30am. We checked in early and had to pay and additional £10. Considering that we paid just under £400 for 2 nights was literally horrendous! When I went down to complain about the size of the room NOT bring a superior room, the receptionist whose name was Darren confirm that I was the second person to complain that day about the same thing! Highly misleading!   From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, not one member of staff came to replenish the tea/coffee or clean the room i.e empty the bins
I had to ask a member of staff for more toilet paper! Absoutely embrassing! I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this was by far the WORST!   I am not in the habit of writing reviews to complain but this was our wedding  Anniversary! Which was ruined! I would like to make an official complaint!

I’ve stayed at this Travelodge a few times now! Perfect Cheap overnight accommodation. Great central location just a 10 min walk from the train station only 10 min walk into town. Staff very pleasant and welcoming we were able to do a bag drop before checking in so we didn’t have to wheel our luggage around town all day! Comfy bed tv refreshments we Had a slightly smaller room than normal no bath but was fine for our overnight stay. Will be staying again this year.

Our room was on the 5th floor and faced westish. We arrived at around 4:30pm when temperatures outside were high 20s or low 30’s. Unfortunately the temperature in our room was probably higher and humidity also high. The window was open and a fan provided so we assumed putting this on during the evening and overnight would reduce the temperature. It didn’t! Even the cold water in the tap was slightly warm! The hotel’s location is ok for the town centre and Wharf areas but this is very much a utility budget hotel quite dark and pokey inside, definitely not good value for money compared with what other hotels have to offer. For the weekend we were there travel lodge demonstrated a cynical disregard for their customers by even letting this room when it was so hot. We moved for our second night to Hampton by Hilton hotel which was almost half the price and ten times as nice in all respects. The room was twice as large air conditioned and with pleasant public area- bar restaurant and reception area. After this I would think carefully about staying in any travel lodge again.

I stayed for one night as I was in Bristol for one night. The assistant manager on reception was welcoming and friendly. She told me that hair dryers and irons were kept in reception and asked if I needed either - I didn't but I think it should be expected to have a hair dryer in the room as standard. For £65, I was surprised and a bit disappointed that my booking didn't include breakfast but I found a nice place in Bristol so not really a problem.

The room was basic but a comfortable bed, good heating and a warm, quite powerful shower. There was no bath mat so I had to use a hand towel on the floor. My room was at the back on the third floor and I didn't hear any noise so had a quiet night's sleep. About a 10 minute walk to Temple Meads station and 15 minutes to Cabot Circus. A little overpriced considering basic room and no breakfast, but a good central location and comfortable enough for one night!

We booked in for two nights but the girlfriend didn’t know the true reason behind our week end staycation. We checked in and Leon (Team Leader) was very welcoming and helpful, we remembered Leon from our previous stay at this Lodge.

Headed up to the room and it was spotless, bed was comfy, shower had great pressure and was more than hot enough. We worked out how to use the coffee machine but we didn’t like the coffee so we stuck to the hot chocolate.

We asked for more chocolate explaining that we don’t like the coffee and the staff were more than helpful. The room was freezing cold on our return as we’d left the window open. The small radiator soon had the room toasty and warm in a very short space of time.

What I personally found a great help was plug sockets next to the bed as I have a sleep apnea machine (medically prescribed machine) that I need next to the bed so the ten foot extension lead I always bring was not needed on this occasion.

Thank you to all staff for another great stay and we look forwards to staying with you again in the future.

This Travelodge in the heart of Bristol is in great order and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The cook and bar staff couldn't be more helpful. This is a budget hotel and the value for money is great . A room with two courses for dinner was less than fifty pounds for one person in a room.
Bed was comfortable.
