Travellers' Choice
For the best of Bristol old and new, stay at Premier Inn Bristol City Centre (Lewins Mead). Our new-generation bedrooms, each featuring and impressive 40" flat screen TV, bright, modern bathroom with a large shower head, and extra-comfy bed are a great contrast to the quirky Christmas Steps Arts Quarter and the Unitarian Meeting House. You're spoilt for choice for things to do in and around Lewins Mead. The famous Floating Harbour, only a 15 minute walk away, is a hub for eating, drinking and cultural attractions such as M-Shed, Watershed and SS Britain. When you've had your fill of the city, come back to your Bristol hotel and sit down to dinner at Brewers Fayre, our on-site restaurant.

Very impressed. Room was spotlessly clean - was like nobody had ever stayed in it before. Big shout out to all the housekeeping staff you’re doing a brilliant job. Reception staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast was delicious. No complaints at all, customer service, room, cleanliness, breakfast, everything 10/10.

Stopped for a couple of nights to visit friends. I was checked in by Kasia, who was really friendly and polite. The room was clean and the cleaning staff were also very friendly when I was leaving the room.

We had a prefect stay at Premier Inn. The bed & mattress were stellar. Easily ranks among the top 3 of best hotel sleeping experiences in a long life of international travel. The hotel is very convenient if your travel includes arrival or departure by bus as it is an easy short walk from the Bristol bus terminal. Also convenient walking distance for the old town area and M Shed. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, cheerful, helpful and professional. Special shout-out to the poor female front desk staff member we witnessed having to deal with an utterly rude male guest who insisted he was entitled to early checkin for no fee. Bravo for remaining professional! And shame on this man for his shameful attempts at intimidation. Highly recommended hotel.

Room was not as clean as I would have liked, stains on the sofa, chair and wall, dust and grime in the corners, but clean bath and toilet. Excellent bed and good shower, basic tv and decent wifi. Excellent location close to the bus station, shops, restaurants and easy walk to the train station. cleanliness disappointing but good price overall.

Just a heads up to any young people trying to save money due to extortionate hotel prices. If you book a family room which sleeps 4 but have 4 adults in the room, or a double room but there’s 3 of you sleeping in the bed, or bring someone back who was originally not on the booking, night time security will not let you in. If you come back from clubbing, they will ask for the names of each and everyone in the room and if they don’t have your names written down for that room, they will kick you out onto the streets , no hesitation regardless of your safety or state. So please stay safe out there, saving £250 + on booking a family room instead of 2 doubles could end up with you and your friends mugged or worse.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, General Manager at Premier Inn Bristol City Centre (Lewins Mead) hotel
Responded 1 week ago
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry you've been left disappointed by our room policy. As per the T&C's agreed at the time of booking - "The maximum room occupancy is two adults. Family rooms (where available) can accommodate two adults (18 years and over) and two children (under the age of 16 years). Children aged 16 or 17 years will be permitted to stay in separate room(s) under the responsibility of the parent or guardian and the parent or guardian must also stay in the hotel at all times the children are within the hotel. You must not exceed the maximum occupancy for the room allocated to you. We reserve the right to conduct checks on occupancy and compliance with these terms. Occupancy is not transferable." It is our guest's responsibility to ensure the T&C's are read and understood before ticking the 'accept' box during the booking process. In line with this policy, the team were unable to provide the one room for your party. This is the same policy for all guests who book and stay with us. We apologise you felt the team were rude, we can assure you the team were working hard to explain the T&C's as clearly as possible to advise the reason the room could not be provided for all 4 guests in your party. Please be assured your feedback has been logged regarding this experience. Once again, we apologise for any disappointment caused and hope to welcome you for a comfortable stay in the future. Kind regards, Rebecca Guest Relations Team

This hotel is very central. We flew in and got the bus link to the city which drops you and leaves again from the bus station just around the corner which is so handy. We were two adults and a child and stayed in a family room. It was good value for money. The room was clean and quiet. Would stay here again.

Stayed here after leaving Rad Blu through to many issues. Lovely staff clean bathroom. You know what your getting. Only thing im finding in every hotel its much to cold. If im paying to stay then thst covers fuel so stop skimmping. Less metal in the room and large mirrors would help. Will return..with a hot water bottle.

My wife and I stayed at Lewins Mead 5th - 6th April 2023. It's our favourite place to stay when in Bristol and we have always had a good experience. This trip was the best so far. We had a fantastic welcome from the reception staff Emily and Crystal. They really looked after us and are a credit to Premier Inn so I hope they get the recognition they deserve. We booked the premier plus room and stayed on the top floor. The room was fantastic, very quiet and we had a great nights sleep. We appreciated having a coffee machine in the room as it's nice to have a decent cup of coffee rather than the usual sachets. The location of the hotel is very convenient for access to Cabot Circus and there is plenty of secure parking nearby. We look forward to our next stay there and thank you again to Crystal and Emily for the great service!

We ate a takeaway meal in our room on the first evening & asked reception to just empty the bin the following morning. When we came back later that day I noticed my prescription tablets which I had left on the bedside table were gone. We searched the bedroom to no avail before reporting the incident to reception. We asked them to search the rubbish & hey presto after only a couple of minutes my (class C) tablets which have a market value on the streets were found. Very suspicious 🤨 & upset that a member of staff had stolen them!!
