Fab budget break.....clean, quiet and friendly.
This was an overnight stop but great location, simple but decent room and having a bar/cafe with proper breakfast option added that bit extra all for a budget price. Perfect for us on this occasion. Thank-you!

Couple of nights stay to visit family and friends - plus points room whilst small was very tidy with adequate facilities including WiFi - we also enjoyed a good breakfast on both mornings. Reception staff were very helpful. The only real negative point was parking - adjacent multi story on level 2 or 3 (shared lift with Waitrose shoppers) which we found inconvenient and expensive.

I booked this hotel for valentines day because we were going out in the town and wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay that wasn't far, the room itself was nice only problem I had was the toilet roll was half used and had someone else's crap on it 🤮 safe to say that wasn't used! The soap dispenser in the shower was very temperamental and didnt work well at all but wasn't a problem because we bought our own anyway. The room all in all was very clean and tidy. The night staff were lovely, my only problem was when we were having breakfast a lady kept coming from the kitchen clearly in a bad mood slamming the cupboards and huffing and puffing and there were a lot of for god sakes and she might aswell have thrown the food in the bowls, she was quite rude to another customer who asked if there was any more hash browns, she snapped yes wait a minute will you, my friend has stayed since though and didn't have the same experience with the grumpy lady so maybe she was having a bad day. Overall it was a nice stay and I would stay again.

After trying to find where to park for our hotel stay when we finally parked in the wrong area of the car park because the signage was poor we finally found the Travelodge reception and was met by a lovely young lady who immediately allocated our room. We found our room not to be made up and we thought there someone was still in the bed 🙄 a second visit to reception and another room was allocated. This one was down a long corridor with carpet that you could have road a boat over the waves which had dirty marks all over. The room was ok no hand wash in the bathroom and a watery substance in the shower cubicle that stank of stale water very hygienic!
Next morning the Breakfast room was like a bomb had gone off, food on floor. Food station in need of a clean, no cutlery and bits of the remaining food in bowls that once house cooked food. Food station and tables unclean. One cook and a young girl rushed off her feet who to be fare attended to our needs very quickly. This was 10 am and another hour to go 😳 The woman who was sat on a disgusting tatty reception chair came into the breakfast room from reception started to mess with the clean glasses but not using the hand gel !!
Does COVID cleaning not apply to a receptionist!! On checking out we found her to be the manager! Who incidentally was eating her breakfast on reception when I handed back the hairdryer and pointed out that the Pat test ended 08/21 some 3 months previous.
I don’t think we will be back at this particular Travelodge, to be sure 😱

Friendly staff, good standard of cleanliness, bed comfy, room very warm on hot days with no air con, although a fan is provided. Good central location, although the car parking is free until 1st Aug 2020 it would normally cost around £8 per day which is quite pricey and cannot be avoided. Wifi was at a acceptable speed and cost £3 for 1 day for 2 devices.

Excellent hotel at excellent price. The location id beautiful, located alongside the canal, but also central to the Town. The reception was welcoming, the carparking was very straightforward and convenient (on the top of the same building as the hotel) and the room was very comfortable. The lift access was very good with no delays. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will use it again when I go to the area again.

My girlfriend had booked room for me and son as she was coming up from london to get us. She had called ahead to check we was still able to stay due to covid 19 they said yes on arrival I checked in and the receptionist said breakfast was still on also. I went up to the room it smelt musky there was dust all around the edges as if they hadn't bothered to hover probably and my son has asthma so this could of tricked it. I then had to proceed and wipe all sides and surfaces as they didnt look clean. The when I took my son down for breakfast the next morning as we pre booked the unlimited breakfast i was told it wasnt on due to covid 19 which i understand but my girlfriend never recieved an email telling us this nor did the staff come round and tell us the evening before or post a note through door. So i then had a 5 year old starving and the hotel didn't offer any alternative which is appalling. I then had take my son out and walk the hi street trying to get him some breakfast when he is a high risk case as he has asthma as I said before. When my girlfriend try ring up to speak to someone regarding our stay they were just rude and kept giving excuses. I wouldnt stay here again. Worse experience & customer service ever.

Stayed here as down on business and visiting family in my hometown. Location is superb for easy access to the town centre and with Waitrose next door you can pop to get any snacks, meals or toiletries you need very conveniently.

Staff, in particular Sofie were excellent. She couldn't do enough for you and was very welcoming and sweet with each interaction. She was also the only front of house member of staff on duty at some points, doing her best to serve everyone. Cleaning staff were also amazing.

The room itself was warm and quiet (123) and overlooks the canal basin. Although a bit small, but this is of course a budget hotel.

Only major gripe would be the shocking quality of the toilet paper that disintegrates upon touching and will find it's way across your room. The duvet did also leave its cover over the course of the week - doesn't have poppers or buttons.

Nice bar/restaurant area. Drinks a bit steep but I suppose you're paying for the convenience. Unlimited buffet breakfast is a good deal with lots of options, although the orange juice again being budget was a bit rank. Otherwise all good and would stay here again!

Great location for our overnight stop. Helpful friendly staff. Very clean. Car parking a short lift ride and charges only payable between 8am & 9pm & not high.
Lovely view of canal. The courtyard area in front of Buckinghamshire University was a gathering place for some young people & sound travels! Lots of rubbish & broken glass left by them which was a conc6fir the many dogs & dog walkers.

Great location but surely Travelodge could secure free parking in their spaces.
Our sink was blocked - it must have been the same when the room was serviced before our arrival which questions why it had not been unblocked.
Breakfast choices good but the scrambled egg was the worst ever - a hard lump & not at all pleasant.
Friendly staff & easy check in/check out.

I would think you could book a room for a night then just stay for a few hours. I believe check in is 3pm and check out 10am. I don't think they will worry how long you stay between those hours as long as you pay.

Is parking free at this hotel. Is it easy to find a space?
Answer from Lexi D

The Parking at this hotel is NOT owned by Travelodge. It is managed by the district council. Guests can use the top 2 floors of the carpark and it is pay and display with a max charge of £8 for over 5 hours due to its location within the town centre. You will need to pay again at 8.00 am. Hope this clarifies!
