We stayed here for one night. We picked the hotel on previous reviews and also it’s location. The room was lovely with a balcony. Everything was very clean and tidy. The shower was very powerful and hot. We were lucky enough to grab the last of five parking spaces right outside the hotel. We arrived at around midday so that we could spend the whole afternoon in Cambridge. Even though we couldn’t check in until 2pm, we were able to leave our car. I think we timed it just right as people were checking out and leaving. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a very good continental selection. I would definitely stay here again.

Was a lovely hotel, about a 10 minute walk away from the centre. Was a spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed. Had a nice bathroom. All staff were lovely and made the experience better. Didn’t get to try the breakfast. Would recommend if going to stay in Cambridge

The hotel is perfectly situated about a 10 minutes walk to the historic town centre. The room was spacious enough, though very little storage , and was lovely and clean. There was plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. The bed was a little hard and pillows very soft, but that is purely a personal preference. The staff were friendly and although we didn’t partake there was a free continental breakfast available. One word of warning, the walls are thin! If you are a light sleeper as I am then I suggest you take ear plugs. We could hear everything from the TV and snoring next door to the girls conversations about their hair at 6.30am in the room upstairs!

I stayed at the Lensfield for one night while attending an event at my old college. In all honesty I chose the hotel mainly because it was much cheaper than most of the other hotels in central Cambridge but I would say that, taking account of the price, it was actually a good choice and certainly somewhere to which I would come back to. The (single) room that I had was extremely small (barely more than room for the bed) but as I was spending little or no time in the room other than sleeping that made no difference. The room was decently equipped, with a good (again small) bathroom and was entirely clean. The continental breakfast which was free/ included in the rate, was actually very good, with a very good selection of items and nice coffee. The staff who I dealt with were friendly, helpful and efficient. All in all this is probably not somewhere I would choose for a long stay or holiday, but for its good location and good value I would highly recommend it and, as I said, would certainly return here.

Conveniently located for train arrivals (halfway between station and city centre), less so for drivers - a few first-come-first-served parking places you can't assume will be vacant when you arrive. Friendly staff. Fridge in room. Small guest lounge / bar. Wifi strength good. Clean. Continental breakfast is OK if rather uninspired (tasteless bread/pastries, the boiled eggs are cold, some items run out without being replaced during breakfast hours). Our room (163) was a little snug - adequate but not somewhere you want to linger. Warm bathroom but no shelves to put things on. Overall value for money average at best; this would not be my first choice next time in Cambridge but if nothing much else available (as was the case this time round) I would have no problem revisiting.

Great location and friendly staff..Tasty breakfast but rooms at the front of the hotel looking on to the main road are noisy due to traffic and old inadequate double glazing. Needed to take a sleeping pill to get only a few hours sleep in the early hours.. So ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

I would really like to rate this hotel higher. The staff were very nice, it had a good continental breakfast, the room was clean, bed comfortable, quiet at night, good location for sight seeing, and hot water for showering. On the negative the plumbing was giving off sewer smell the whole 4 day stay. While the staff tried to mask the smell they really need to fix the plumbing.

I had a one night stay at the Lensfield Hotel, which is just a short walk from Cambridge city centre, its attractions and university departments. The room was clean and well-presented, the bathroom maybe a little tired. The bed was extremely comfortable. Continental breakfast was included and surpassed expectations with regards to the range of items. My room was front facing, which meant there was some noise from the road. The nearby bar's live music finished promptly at 11pm (it was a Friday night), but the hotel is NOT on a main thoroughfare where you might be disturbed by late night revellers. It is probably also fine during months where the window does not need to be opened - it was warm during my visit. The wifi worked reliably.

Staff were very helpful on multiple occasions. First, we had to change our booking owing to the heatwave, and while Booking.com failed us in this regard, a quick phone call to Alex, the receptionist, got us all sorted. Secondly, the staff were very generous with provided fans, offering as many as we'd like, and thirdly when we had to use "Send my Bag.com" to get some suitcases back home, they handled everything on their end perfectly and without charge. The hotel itself has some nice old interior decor, and the continental breakfast was very generous. Location was also a big plus, as it is difficult to find anywhere closer to the old university town. One small gripe would be that the en suite had a few minor spots missed in its cleaning, though the room itself was spotless.

We had a great stay, staff were really helpful and I managed to get one of the parking spaces. Unfortunately our friends didn’t, there is a carpark 5 minutes walk away, but it was quite expensive. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from central Cambridge a slow 30 minute walk from the river. Our room was nice and everything we needed for an overnight stay. It was even ready when we arrived at midday which was a bit of a result. The thing were were most impressed with was the breakfast. It says it’s a grab and go breakfast so we didn’t expect much, it had lots of choice and they even made me some gluten free toast. We would definitely use this hotel again and wouldn’t hesitate recommending it. The only downside is the parking which is limited.
