The room was very dusty and the carpet edges haven't seen a cleaner lately either. All the bedding, curtains, chair etc was all different colours, thought perhaps the owner was colour blind. There was a small fridge that was dirty too. If you suffer from allergies or hay fever, wouldn't recommend. When we arrived Mary greeted us, told us she...

Good value for money. We were looking for a BnB in the area to visit family. Not the most central but it fit the bill. Mary, the lady who takes care of the establishment is extremely nice and helpful. She asked us what we wanted to for breakfast and I believe the chocie was between continental and english breakfast. Will...

I live in the area and my family stayed at the b&b for a night when they came to visit. The room and bathroom were clean. They were very happy with the service. Mary, the manager lives on site and was most helpful. The lady serving breakfast was very helpful too and gave them a few good tips. The lodge...

After trying three places we finally had to take this as it was late on Saturday afternoon. If your looking for 3+ stars keep looking. It's tidy but dated. Our double bed was worn out Luckily the single bed was ok for my wife. I can sleep on anything. The breakfast room was musty as ventilation in old buildings can...

B.B. staff was really nice but they definitely need a cleaning staff because everything had mold and the towels had a really strong moldy smell. I would recommend it only for one night. The room is quite small and the bathroom even smaller.

We were on business in Cambridge and stayed at Amber Lodge for 12 nights in July. It is well-appointed, clean and cozy. Mary, the landlady, is very friendly and helpful. Our room (Nr. 5) overlooked an internal patio so we were able to sleep with the windows open without being disturbed by the street's noise. The room was of an...

I found this B And B tired! The decor is dated, the room I occupied had a small ensuite, very small. Bed was comfy, and Linen clean and fresh. The plumbing whistles, and disturbs your sleep. TV, kettle, clock radio, etc NO Hairdryer. The outside appearance of the property reflects the interior, dull and in need of some refurbishment. Breakfast was...

My husband and I stayed at Amber Lodge for one night as we were spending a weekend in Cambridge for a friend's wedding. We had a good night's rest, a good breakfast, and would recommend this B&B. See below for specific points. Good points: 1) On-site parking: Considering how difficult it is to find parking in and around Cambridge, it's...

I paid £36 for a single room at Amber Lodge for a Saturday night. Found this to be very good value for money. My room was a typical single bedroom, with plasma, sink, tea and coffee facilities, and an en-suite toilet (shower was in the bathroom which was shared with a couple of other rooms). The landlady was very friendly,...

Having travelled for some hours we were weary and just wanted to rest. We had to wait ages for the door to be opened and were a bit put off to hear a small child and see a dog...we were asked how we were going to pay before we'd even seen our room, and I was a bit surprised to...
