Rooms were clean, with basic amenities you would expect in a Travelodge. Rooms are only cleaned upon request, but staff are helpful and responsive.
As a Travelodge, the room rate was also great for those travelling on a shoestring. All in all, I am quite happy with my stay here and would love to stay here again.
If you use the disabled bays in the multi storey around the corner, car park it costs £7 but if like me, you can’t walk 50metres without going blue in the face and breathless, it’s not much good as the multi storey car park is about a 300m walk to the hotel entrance.
We stayed here as I had an all day Hospital appointment. The hotel is good in that respect, it’s a 1 1/2 mile, 10 minute drive to Addenbrookes and Papworth from the hotel and there is a choice of restaurants right outside as well as a cinema.
Great for folks who aren’t disabled, but the room I was given didn’t have any electric sockets next to the bed headboard and husband had to move the bed horizontal to the dressing table so
I could plug in my respiratory equipment into the tv socket. It then meant we could watch tv in bed because the bed was parallel with the dresser as that’s the only place my equipment could go so it’s close to my head.
The bathroom had one vertical and one horizontal grab rail, both chrome and slippery when wet. The bath was tall and difficult to step into to take a shower. Not great and I didn’t feel safe at all.
Because of the troublesome parking problems, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone with a disability.
Both easy chairs in the room had broken off plastic trim, and the dressing table where the tv and kettle sat, the plastic edging was loose and flapped. It kept catching clothing when we leaned over the counter to pick up the kettle.
On the positive side, the buffet breakfast was great and always being replenished. The room was clean and tidy too.
Into the room and its ok, a bed, tv (didn't think they still made them that small), chair, table and a kettle straight from a Blackpool B&B.
The bathroom however appears to be where the money was saved in this building, straight from the 90's and for £75 per night that's disappointing.
No USB charging ports as I had forgotten my plug, thought that was standard in most big chain hotels these days but the local pub saved the day.
No lock on the bathroom door either which I found strange to say the least.
Slept ok but nearby main road is very noisy which probably explains why the windows don't open.
I am no snob by any means but have stayed in much better for less.
Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on the food.
Location is pretty Central and access to City Centre is easy via any means.
Parking was £7 for 24hrs in a nearby parking lot and had to be validated by Reception so don't forget to add this on if you plan on driving.
A bed for the night is all that was needed and that is literally all that was delivered here.
There is a small car park at the back of the hotel which is £12.50 for 24 hours or there is a multi storey nearby which is even more pricey.
Check in was fast and reception staff were friendly. I had a room on the first floor overlooking the leisure park, the room was warm and the window did not open, and the air con never seemed to get any cooler, and this was in February so I’m guessing the rooms are quite hot here in the summer.
The bedroom was clean enough although the bathroom could have been cleaner and I did find a hair on the sink on arrival.
And it was quite noisy being able to hear every word of every conversation of other guests who walked past, however this didn’t go on too late so I managed a decent nights sleep.
I would stay again as it is convenient to my work location being in walking distance and there are also plenty of place to get food within the leisure park the hotel is situated on. Also ideally located If you’re attending a gig at the junction.
The bedroom was clean, bed sheets, tables, and other furniture were of mediocre quality and undamaged. There was very good sound proofing quality, no sound from the outside and minimal sound from the inside. The bathroom had a very strong unpleasant smell, the lighting was quite dim and dirty, the fixture for the bath tub to shower converter was completely broken and a fix by myself had to be made.
Used spoons and cups clearly just “rinsed” under the tap to clean. Thick dirty dust on EVERY surface, windows COVERED in stick smear marks from faces and hands, plug holes blocked with clumps of hair, toilet seats clearly not even wiped let alone disinfected. This was not a cheap room at £90 for 1 night midweek! We have used travelodge for years with on the whole good experiences- however this hotel was absolutely below par and we will be looking to use a newer/ cleaner/ brand in the future!
"Parking is in the multi storey round the corner. They do offer a discount so is only £7 for 24 hours."Read full review
