Stayed here to attend the Duxford Flying Legends Airshow. Not even five minutes from the train station and a 15-20 walk to city centre. Clean comfortable rooms, Wireless internet perfect. Full breakfast terrific. Only issue is thin walls/floors. Guests above walking around and snoring made for a couple of sleepless nights.

The price and hosts make this a no-brainer. The location is perfect and breakfast was great (perfect eggs sunny side up). The Oak Bistro nearby is a proper gem for fine dining if you are in for a treat. Only downside was that we could hear the other guests. Tea facilities in room and very gracious hosts.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night after cycling from London and it was very nice. The owner was friendly and welcoming and helped us to lock our bikes in a convenient and safe place. This was what I would expect from a nice B&B (smallish room, slightly outdated features) but that was part of the charm. The... More

I stayed there for 1 night and felt good. The room was ok, nothing incredible but it was clean and the sleep quality was good. The location is very nice, right next to the railway station. The breakfast was included in the room price. I chose a typical English breakfast and it turned out good. If this were a hotel... More

This seems on first to be a fairly standard cheap traditional B & B: small rooms, rather worn carpets, slightly odd fittings, basic shower unit etc. I found the owner's deadpan Northern Itish manner a little disconcerting at first. But while the usual experience with such places is to discover a mass of irritating further problems, this one suprises: everything... More

My father and I recently stayed at the Railway Lodge (December 2012) and had the most delightful experience. The owner, and our host, was warm, caring and delightful; a true Irish raconteur he welcomed us with a warm smile and made sure we felt immediately at home. All our needs were attended to with gentle humor, from breakfast to a... More

Spotlessly clean, good choice of cooked breakfasts, convenient for station and not too far to walk to city centre, very competively priced and a very warm welcome awaits all guests. All in all, a great little establishment and highly recommended.

This B & B is very recommendable because of its perfect location near the railway station. Nonetheless, it is in a quiet road. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good value for the price. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is lovely, with several choices from a menu.

I stayed at the Railway Lodge twice during a recent trip to the UK. The owner was always polite and helpful. I had a different room each time, both away from the street and had no noise issues at all. While the room sizes were tight (of the proverbial 'couldn't swing a cat around' size) they were clean and equipped... More
